The Tamil Nadu Teachers’ Recruitment board has released the notification for Assistant Professor recruitment in Tamil Nadu Government and Government aided Colleges. The 33-page document which was released on 28th August 2019, mentions various things regarding recruitment such as eligibility criteria, qualification requirements etc in a detailed manner. The recruitment process is set to conclude on 24th September 2019. As per the official notification, the pay scale of the Assistant Professor will be from Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400 per month. The teachers’ recruitment board will run this recruitment drive to fill the total vacancies of 2,340 posts for assistant teachers in different subjects in Tamil Nadu government colleges. The details of the vacancy are as follows:

The government of Tamil Nadu reserves assistant professor posts for a bunch of categories. Those categories based on which, the teacher recruitment in Tamil Nadu occurs are given below. Please make a note of the abbreviations for better understanding of the reservation quotas in effect in Tamil Nadu.

Vertical Reservation in Tamil Nadu Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2019
The communal reservations are known as vertical reservations in Tamil Nadu as it follows the central government reservation rules but also co-exists vertically. The percentage of vertical reservation in Tamil Nadu Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2019 is set at 69%.

If the demand for Arunthathiyars increases than the reserved 3%, the Arunthathiyars will be counted in the Scheduled Caste (other) for recruitment. On the other hand, if the seats reserved for Arunthathiyars remain vacant, they will be filled with merit by Scheduled Caste (Other) Category students.
Horizontal Reservation in Tamil Nadu Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2019
These reservations exist in every sector of the vertical reservations. The Horizontal Reservations are given to the categories such as Women, Physically Handicapped and The Students Studied in Tamil Medium. The percentage of reservation is as follows:

The other norms of Horizontal Reservation policies suggest that if there are no women candidate available in the 30% reservation slab, the remaining vacant seats will be filled by Male candidates of respective category. Similarly, if the 20% Tamil Medium Person Quota is not filled, students from the non-Tamil background will fill the quota. In the case of non-availability of Disabled Persons, the general candidates will be taken into consideration on the basis of merit.
Tamil Nadu Assistant Professor Eligibility Criteria 2019
To apply in the Tamil Nadu Assistant Professor Recruitment Drive 2019, aspirants must fulfil all the quotas mentioned in the eligibility criteria to apply in the post. The eligibility criteria are as follows:
The candidate must be less than 57 years of age on 1st September 2019
The candidate must pass with 55% in a post-graduate degree along with pass marks in any of NET /SLET/SLST/ SET /JRF/CSIR examinations according to the UGC directives.
If not qualified in any of the common entrance examinations mentioned above, the aspirant must have a PhD Degree in the respective field.
A relaxation of 5% in graduation marks will be given to the reserved (vertical) candidates
The candidates who have done M.Phill or PhD through a correspondence course or distance universities will be counted ineligible to apply.
The students who have acquired M.Phill or PhD from abroad must obtain a ‘Certificate of Equivalence’ from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
The candidate must submit community certificate if applying under any specified community
Candidates who have completed their higher education in any of the equivalent or related subjects are eligible for applying in a particular subject.

Tamil Nadu Assistant Professor Recruitment Application Form 2019
The application for the Tamil Nadu Assistant Professor Post must be made online. The online portal will be kept open from 4th September 2019 to receive applications till 24th September 2019.
Following is the step-by-step application process for Tamil Nadu Assistant Professor recruitment:
The candidates will have to visit the http://www.trb.tn.nic.in website for making the online application.
The candidate will have to register with a valid e-mail ID and mobile number.
The candidate will have to mention his/her academic performance and to support the claims, he/she will also have to upload the supporting documents which will be verified later at the time of interview.
The candidate will have to fill his/her bio-data correctly with the details of address, date of birth, subjects applied for etc.
If the candidate is willing to apply for different posts at once, the candidate can do it by using a separate set of e-mail addresses and phone numbers.
Tamil Nadu Assistant Professor Recruitment Application Fee 2019
The candidates of Tamil Nadu Assistant Professor Post will have to pay the ‘Application Processing Fee’ for their applications to be granted. There are separate fees for General and Reserved Backward Categories. The General Category students will have to pay a sum of 600/- rupees where the candidates belonging to the economically backward classes will have to pay 300/- rupees.
The payment of the fees can only be done online using online payment methods. After the student has duly filled up the application form, the form will prompt the students to the payment gateway where they can pay their fees using Credit Card, Debit Card and Net Banking Methods.
While making the payment, the candidates are entitled to pay the convenience fee or the service charges which will be charged additionally on the 600 or 300 rupees accepted fee. The service charge is charged for the facility of online payment gateway. Without paying the service charges, the candidate cannot register for the recruitment process.

Tamil Nadu Assistant Professor Recruitment Selection Process 2019
The selection process for the 2019 Tamil Nadu Assistant Professor Recruitment will be in three stages. First, teachers will be evaluated on the basis of their educational qualification, teaching experience etc and will be given marks. Then when the marking is complete, the candidate with higher marks will qualify for the next round. The marks will be given on the basis of the following:
