As per the official notification released by TNPSC, the online application for TNPSC Group-1 Exam 2020 has been started. Interested students can visit the official website of TNPSC to fill the application form. The last date for filling the application form for TNPSC Group 1 Examination 2020 is February 19, 2020. Note that the application form for TNPSC Group 1 examination will be only available in online mode.

The date for prelims exam for TNPSC Group 1 examination has been scheduled on April 5th. While the exact dates for the mains exam have not been notified yet. This article will cover all the important details and guidelines in terms of TNPSC Group 1 examination application form 2020.

TNPSC New Changes in Exam Rules 2020 (Important)

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has introduced 6 new rules in the examination and pattern regulations including Aadhar card been made mandatory for application. The new rules have been implemented to take action against the maloperations done in previous exams. These rules are explained in the points below:

Rule Change 1: TNPSC has made Aadhar card mandatory for all the applicants so that no applicant fills the examination application for more than one exam. No candidates will be allowed to sit for the examination without Aadhar verification. Along with this, the fingerprints of the candidates will also be verified and compared before the exam.

Rule Change 2: There will be high tech systems deployed in each of the examination centres to make sure no cheating or any other malpractice is spread while exam.

Rule Change 3: As per the new rules, the applicants will have the provision to opt for 3 districts as the centres for TNPSC Exam. Although to make the process seamless, the final centre will be allotted by the TNPSC board.

Rule Change 4: After the counselling process is over, the list of the selection made on the basis of department wise, vacancy wise(if any), quota wise and district wise will be released by the exam board.

Rule Change 5: After the completion of the examination and all related procedure, the candidate's name list will be released by the TNPSC board.

Rule Change 6: The candidates can now even access their answer sheet after the examination after paying a specific amount as the fee.

How to Apply for TNPSC Group 1 Examination

The eligible students need to follow the given below guidelines to fill the application form for TNPSC Group 1 Examination 2020. All the candidates must fill the form till or before February 19, 2020. It is advisable for the students to read the given guidelines carefully as after form submission, no changes will be entertained in the form in any case.

  1. All the candidates are required to fill the TNPSC Group 1 examination form through the official websites. These websites are:

  • www.tnpsc.gov.in

  • www.tnpscexams.net

  • www.tnpscexams.in

  1. Students are required to attempt the One Time Registration (OTR) to create a candidate dashboard where they will access the application form.

  2. The student must have a scanned copy of a recent photograph and signature to complete the OTR.

  3. For the students already registered, they are required to use their ID and password to create a new OTR system.

  4. The students will complete the registration using personal information such as email, contact number, etc. required for the registration. After submitting, their personal dashboard will be created.

  5. After creating the dashboard, the students are required to click on the “Apply” link beside the post for which they want to apply. Note that students will use the same ID and password as generated at the time of one-time registration.

  1. Before filling the application form, students are advised to read the instructions as given on the website carefully.

  2. The students will have to fill the application form using personal details such as name, address, DOB, post applied for, communal category, examination centres, etc. As specified, the students must cross-check the information filled in the application form as the changes cannot be done once submitted.

  3. Further, the students will have to fill the information related to their qualification and upload the required documents. IN case of any document found to be invalid, the registration of the student will be rejected. Hence, the students are advised to enter the correct passing year, SSLC register number, name of the board, and other details.

Important Note: If a student has more than one SSLC mark sheets, he/she will have to enter the detail as given in the final attempted exam for SSLC.

  1. After filling the application form and clicking on the submit button, the students will have to pay for the application form. The application form payment can be done through any of the payment options including

  • Debit/Credit Card

  • Net Banking

  • Challan

  • Post Office Challan

The application fee to be paid for TNPSC Group 1 Examination 2020 is given in detail below:

Registration Fee (To be paid at the time of registration)

INR 150/-

Preliminary Examination Fee (To be paid at the time on the online application)

INR 100/-

Mains Examination Fee (To be only paid by the students who qualify preliminary round and get selected for mains exam)

INR 200/-

  1. For the online payment methods, after submitting the details and payment is successful, an application ID is generated. The students must note the application ID for future references.

  1. For the offline payment methods, the students will have to select the option for Post Office or State Bank of India. When chosen, an E-Challan receipt will be generated by the system. The students will take a printout of the receipt and visit the nearest post office or SBI branch to make the payment. The payment must be made within two days from the registration.

Important Note: The students need not send a copy of the receipt to the commission. The submitted documents will be verified at the time of the selection process.
