The application process for UCEED 2025 will start from October 2025. IIT Bombay will conduct this design entrance exam in the third week of January 2025. Here we bring you the institute and category-wise UCEED seat intake 2025, and reservation criteria.

UCEED Seat Matrix

The UCEED seat matrix 2025 or the total number of seats that are offered under the UCEED 2025 is likely to be updated on its portal along with the notification posted by IIT Bombay on its official website, uceed.iitb.ac.in. As per sources, around 225 seats are expected to be made available for admissions. Last year, the UCEED seat allotment for BDes admissions in IITs was increased by 20, after the addition of IIT Roorkee to the list of UCEED-participating institutes. Seats will be allocated to the students in these institutes based on their performance in the UCEED 2025 entrance exam. UCEED Seat Matrix 2025 - Reservation of Seats

IIT Bombay will allocate seats for Indian nationals based on government-prescribed rules for specific categories. The reservations are as follows:

  • Economically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS): 10% of seats in every course are reserved for students from the Economically Weaker Section.
  • Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL): 27% of seats in every course are reserved for students belonging to the Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer category.
  • Scheduled Caste (SC): 15% of seats in every course are reserved for students from the Scheduled Caste category.
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST): 7.5% of seats in every course are reserved for students from the Scheduled Tribe category.

Note: 5% horizontal reservation for Persons with Disability (PwD) in OPEN, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, and ST category seats. Candidates in these categories will be qualified based on relaxed criteria. The previous admission session's seat intake data for various IITs is provided below; please note that the UCEED seat matrix data for 2025 will be updated once the current session's seat intake data is released.

Admission Process of UCEED 2025 Participating Institutes

Students who want to go into the BDes program among the participating institutes through UCEED 2025 must qualify for the entrance exam and attain a merit rank. The UCEED question paper consists of two parts - PART A and PART B. Candidates must also note that if they do not meet the cut-off marks for Part A, their Part B answer booklets will not be evaluated.

Only students who meet the cut-off marks will be given a merit rank and eligible for the counselling round. The seat allotment will be done based on the merit rank of the student.
