VIT B.Des Eligibility Criteria 2022

The eligibility criteria are the conditions prescribed by an institute for admission to the desired course. An individual is required to meet them in order to be considered for admission at the VIT B.Des programme.

Elaborated below are the VIT B.Des Eligibility Criteria that must be fulfilled by the aspirants.

Nationality:

Applicants must either be a Resident Indian National or a Non-Resident Indian National.

Age Limit:

Candidates must be born on or before July 1, 2000.

Educational Qualification:

• Candidates must have cleared the final examination of the 10+2 system, intermediate or 2-year long Pre-University from a recognized board of education or university.

• Students who have completed the qualification from NIOS Board or Open schools recognised by JEE are also eligible to apply for VIT B.Des Admission.

• Applicants must have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) as the subjects in the aforementioned qualifying examination.

• An overall aggregate of 60% is required by the candidates to apply for admission.

• 10% relaxation is offered to the candidates hailing from the SC/ST community or Ladakh/ Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Assam, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, Sikkim and Nagaland. They can apply with an aggregate of 50%.

• A valid UCEED score is also essential.

• Candidates who are awaiting the result of their qualifying examination can also apply, provided that they produce the passing certificate on or before the notified date.

VIT B.Des Application Process 2022

An individual can apply for VIT B.Des Admission only through an online mode. No printed OMR applications will be released by the university. Enlisted below are the steps explaining how to apply for VIT B.Des Admission 2022.

Registration:

• Visit the official website of the university and scroll down to find out the bulletin board on the right-hand side.

• Find “ B.Des | B.Arch.| B.Sc. Agri | Science & Humanities” and click on "Apply Now".

• A list of programmes will open up. Click again on “Apply Now” mentioned under the B.Des (Industrial Design) programme.

• Select “New Applicant”.

• Enter all the valid details including the name, DOB, mobile number, e-mail address etc. carefully and correctly as shown in the figure below.

• Fill-in the verification code.

• Click on “Register”.

• An OTP will be forwarded to the registered mobile number and email address.

• Verify the OTP.

• A password will be generated and sent to the registered email address.

• Either click on “Go back to Sign-in” or follow the instructions mentioned above until “Apply Now”.

Fill-in the Application Form:

• Log in using the registered email address and the password received on mail.

• An application form will pop-up.

• Enter all the personal and academic information correctly.

• Upload the required documents.

• Click on “Submit”.

Make the Application Fee Payment:

• An application number will be generated. Jot it down in a safe place as it will be required in all future correspondences.

• Pay the non-refundable application fee of  Rs. 1,250/- through Netbanking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Paytm.

• The application form will be submitted and a notification regarding the same would be sent through email or message.

Documents Required for VIT B.Des Application Process 2022

The list of documents that are required while filling up the application form of VIT B.Des is provided underneath:

• Copy of an age-proof certificate or Aadhar card.

• Copy of a community or category certificate (SC/ST candidates only).

• Copy of a nativity certificate (Ladakh/ Jammu & Kashmir and North Eastern State candidates only)

• Copy of a class 12th Hall Ticket (Result awaited candidates only).

• Copy of a class 12th mark statement or Website result copy.

• Copy of a valid UCEED Scorecard .

• Photograph Image (Size between 10 KB to 200 KB, Dimension- 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm)

• Signature Image (Size between 10 KB to 200 KB, Dimension- 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm)

VIT B.Des Selection Process 2022

VIT does not conduct an entrance exam for B.Des admissions. However, it is mandatory for an individual to qualify for the UCEED exam. Provided below is the selection criteria discussed in detail:

1. A merit list will be prepared based on the performance in the class 12th and UCEED.

   1. The shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend the counselling process. It may occur virtually or on campus. Any notification regarding the same will be shared on the official website.

2. The counselling invitation does not guarantee B.Des admission at VIT as an interview/ skill test will be held to finalise the shortlisted candidates.

3. The final list will be curated based on the performance of the candidates in the interview/ skill test.
