Who is Eligible for WBJEE Round 2 Counselling?

Who is Eligible for WBJEE 2025 Round 2 Counselling: Candidates who receive a seat allotment in this round must complete the payment of the seat acceptance fee, report to their allotted college for document verification, and complete any necessary withdrawal procedures before the due dates.The WBJEE 2025 counselling process is held in 3 rounds i.e. the allotment round, the upgradation round, and the mop-up round.

Only those candidates who cleared the WBJEE 2025 exam will be eligible to appear for the counselling process of WBJEE 2025. In addition, there is an eligiblity criteria for WBJEE 2025 round 2 counselling also. Those candidates who have not been allotted seats in round 1 or did not accept the allotment can take part in the second round of WBJEE counselling 2025. Students also must take note that they have to register only for round 1 of counselling i.e. the allotment round and the last round of WBJEE counselling i.e. the mop-up round. The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board will conduct the WBJEE counselling 2025 in the online mode tentatively in July 2025. Eligibility Criteria for WBJEE 2025 Round 2 Counselling

The candidates will be allowed to take part in WBJEE 2025 Round 2 counselling as per the following rules –

Eligibility Rule 1

Candidates who did not get a seat in Round 1

Eligibility Rule 2

Candidates who paid the seat acceptance fee, completed the document verification and opted for ‘Upgradation of Seat’

Eligibility Rule 3

Candidates whose seat allotment has been cancelled in Round 1 due to the non-acceptance of category certificate

Note: Candidates participating in the Round 2 counselling of WBJEE 2025 must note that this will be the final round, and there will be no option for the upgradation of seats.

Important Points to Note about WBJEE 2025 Round 2 Counselling

Here are some of the important points that a candidate must note if he/ she is participating in Round 2 counselling –

  • As there is no upgradation option after Round 2 seat allotment, the candidates will either have to accept the seat and complete the admission formalities or withdraw from counselling and take part in the mop-up round
  • Candidates who opted for upgradation in Round 1 must note that the seat allocated in Round 1 shall be cancelled and the same is not available for retaining
  • It is important to pay the seat acceptance fee if any fresh candidate is allocated a seat for the first time in Round 2

WBJEE 2025 Round 2 Seat Allotment Process/ Rules

As Round 2 seat allotment is applicable for candidates who opted for upgradation and not allocated a seat in Round 1, the following outcomes can be expected after the seat allotment in Round 2 –

Upgradation of Seat Allotment as per 1 st Choice

  • Candidates whose allotment is upgraded as per the first choice can report to the institute and complete the admission formalities
  • After the reporting process, the candidates need to obtain the signed copy of the Physical Reporting Receipt
  • If the candidates are not satisfied with the seat allotment, he/she can complete the reporting process and take part in the Mop-Up round

Allotment Not Upgraded as Per First Choice

  • Candidates whose allotment is not upgraded as per the first choice or did not see any change in upgradation can also complete the admission formalities if he/ she is satisfied with the allotment
  • If the candidates are not satisfied with the seat allotment, he/ she can refrain from reporting process and withdraw the seat allotment to take part in Mop-Up round
  • The candidates need not join the allocated institute and pay the fee if he/she wants to take part in Mop-Up round

Seat Allotment in Round 2 for Fresh Candidates

  • If the candidates who did not get a seat in Round 1 are allocated a seat in Round 2, he/she will have to pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs. 5,000
  • Such candidates will have to complete the document verification process as well
  • Candidates who are not satisfied with the seat allotment can take part in Mop-Up round

  • 10th admit card/birth certificate for verifying the date of birth
  • 10th and 12th Marks
  • Domicile certificate
  • Category certificate for the reserved category candidates
  • PwD Rank holder card
  • Income certificate to the TFW rank holders
