Is mathematics compulsory at the +2 level to be eligible for BA Economics (Hons) admission?

Hi, maths is not compulsory. BA Economics is a course that helps the students to learn the importance of economic development and the ways it needs to be practiced in various sectors such as the conservative use of natural resources, consumption of goods and services in the best possible way, maintenance of the equilibrium of demand and supply in the market, etc. This program offers students the knowledge of micro and macroeconomics which includes economics at the individual level, for example, the determinants of demand and supply of consumers and economics at the national level for example GDP of the country. At LPU B Sc ( Hons) Economics is a mixture of conventional economics courses and modern-day analytical tools. The program is capable of opening new opportunities especially for the students who wish to pursue a higher degree in the field of economics as it includes the subjects of economics starting from basics to the advanced one including the course on econometrics which is high in demand. Education is imparted under the semester system and or improved learning, emphasis is laid on Seminars and Case-Based Teaching. Nowadays, knowledge of statistical tools and their applicability is highly required by big industries. This demand is fully kept in mind when the curriculum for the program is designed. LPU provides the students with the following options: a. Core and Elective Courses b. Language and Communication Skills c. Open Minors d. Workshops and Seminar Courses Last but not the least, Pathways are also floated which assist the student to achieve his/her dream. Three pathways such as Corporate Jobs, Government Jobs, and Higher Studies are offered to the student in the fourth term. More emphasis and hands-on training through workshops on SPSS, Data Analysis, Excel Modelling, Computer Applications, etc. LPU provides International Exposure and Credit Transfer options to the interested students to opt for semester year or summer school in countries like Canada, England, Australia, and many more.

For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. (5% relaxation to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmiri Migrants) LPU offers BSc Economics Hons. Dear student, if you have not studied mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects at the 10+2 level then you cannot apply for BA Economics (Hons) admission in any reputed institution in India. Also, you must have studied Economics as one of the main subjects at the qualifying exam level. By not having either of the subjects mentioned above makes you ineligible for BA Economics (Hons) admission in India.
