I have 85% for Diploma. Will I get lateral entry admission to the Computer Science department at Visvesvaraya National Institute Of Technology?

Student can take admission in lateral entry programme after qualify diploma. Lovely Professional University offers lateral entry programme in B.Tech. (Computer Science and Engineering) [Lateral Entry]. You can save 1 year in Btech lateral entry programme. Eligibility Criteria of B.Tech. CSE [Lateral Entry] is candidate must be Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (Engg.) (any stream) 3 years after 10th Or 2 years after 10+2 (Non-Medical) Or B.Sc. (Non-Medical) Or B.Sc. (Computer Science) Or BCA or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST. (5% relaxation to North-East states and Sikkim candidates or Defence Personnel and their Dependents or Wards of Kashmiri Migrants). Programme fee of this course is Rs 120000 per semester without scholarship. You can avail scholarship on your percentage in diploma course. LPU offers numerous other scholarships on the basis of percentage in previous qualifying exam, LPUNEST exam , National Level Exams, performance in Innovation, Start-up, Entrepreneurship & Hackathons, basis of Performance in Sports, Cultural, R & D, Co-curricular, Social Service, Bravery Awards, Special scholarship for board toppers, Financial Aid – Need based i.e Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and special categories that includes Single Girl Child, Single Mother, Students from Minorities, Transgender, and Non-Traditional Student, Financial Aid for Serving/Retired Defence/CAPF/Para – Military Personnel and their Dependants, Financial Aid to Persons with certain disability and orphans.

Dear Student,

Yes, you can take lateral entry admission to Computer Science Engineering at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology with your Diploma percentage. However, you also need to appear for the Karnataka DCET entrance exam which is a common entrance test conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). After qualifying for the DCET exam, you will be eligible for direct admission to 2nd year of Computer Science Engineering.
