The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has initiated the application process for the National Eligibility Test (NET) for determining the eligibility of the candidates for the post of Professors and Lecturers in Agricultural Universities (AUs) and State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) across India . ICAR is the highest commission and monitoring body of the Agricultural Education sector in India which per year conducts the ICAR NET examination. The ICAR NET 2019 official notification was released on 14th October.
Agriculture Scientist Recruitment Board has released an official notification regarding the rescheduling of the NET 2019 examination. The ICAR NET 2019 exam is now likely to take place on January 11, 2020. The exam was scheduled to take place on January 8 but due to the strike by the Trade Unions, the Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) has decided to postpone the exam.

ICAR NET 2019 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the post of Professors and Lecturers in Agricultural universities across the country, candidates have to meet the eligibility of ICAR NET 2019. The ICAR NET 2019 eligibility criteria is given in detail below:
The candidate must have acquired a masters degree in any equivalent and related specialisation of Agriculture
The candidate must have got the masters degree before the application form closing date
The candidate must be a minimum of 21 years of age before 1st July 2019
There is no upper limit of age for making an application for ICAR NET
The Candidate must be a citizen of India, Nepal or Bhutan
Or, The candidate must be a Tibetan Refugee came to India 1st January 1962 with the intentions to permanently settle in India
Or, A Migrant from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire, Vietnam or Ethiopia with intentions to permanently settle in India
ICAR NET 2019 Application Fees
The conducting body has set different sets of application fees based on the class-based reservation, economic-reservation, and quota. Different students are entitled to pay a different amount of changes for appearing in the ICAR NET examination.
Unreserved General Category: ₹1,000
EWS-General & OBC Category: ₹500
ST, SC, PwD and Women: ₹250
How to Apply for ICAR NET 2019 Examination
The application process for ICAR NET Examination 2019 is completely online and the student has to apply and make payment using the online methods. The step-by-step method for 2019 ICAR NET 2019 Application and payment process are as follows,
The candidate must log in to the ARSB website which is asrb.org.in
There, the candidate can find out the application making form.
The candidate must fill the form thoroughly with their bio-data and the academic qualifications as asked. The candidates will also have to upload the supporting documents in jpeg or png format wherever asked. They will be subject to further scrutiny.
After the form has been completed, the candidate will be taken to the payment gateway where the payment of the prescribed fees can be made using any of debit card, credit card, internet banking, UPI, e-wallets etc. The application will not be considered complete if the payment is not done which will make it rejected.
After the successful payment of the application fees, the candidates can take a printout of the generated form with all details filled. This can be used for future reference.
ICAR NET 2019 Important Documents
There is a prescribed set of documents which the candidate has to upload along with the application form.The documents shall be uploaded in jpeg or png format while filling the application and will be verified later as well. The important documents required for ICAR NET 2019 are as follows:

Masters Degree Passing Certificate/Result
Bachelors Degree Passing Certificate/Result
10+2 and 10th passing Certificates/Results

The above-mentioned documents will be required to be uploaded in a scanned format. Still, they will be again rechecked later with the original copies.
ICAR NET 2019 Examination Pattern
The candidates who are attempting the ICAR NET Examination 2019 will have to answer a total of 150 questions. There will be 150 Multiple Choice Type Questions (MCQ) in total carrying 1 mark each. Every wrong answer will cause a deduction of ⅓ mark. The candidtae will be given 2 hours to complete the entire paper.
ICAR NET 2019 Minimum Qualifying Marks
The candidates need to score a minimum mark specified as per the candidate’s category to pass the ICAR NET 2019 examinations. The minimum qualifying marks for each category in ICAR NET 2019 examination are as follows,

These marking slabs can be changed anytime as per the will of ICAR if any requirement arises.

A total of 32 centers in each state and union territory of India will be assigned for the examination. Candidate can choose their nearest exam center according to their convenience.
