Students from all over India pursue this degree because of the excellent job opportunities. Admission to the BSc Agriculture programme is determined by merit or through an entrance exam. Candidates for the BSc Agriculture Course can apply by taking any university or state-level entrance exam.
In India, agricultural research and education are managed by a separate organisation known as the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). It lacks the legal authority or jurisdiction to recognise or approve any university or college's decision to offer a BSc in agriculture course. A college must be authorised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Students should be aware that the ICAR holds entrance exams similar to the JEE. Students who successfully complete the ICAR entrance exam are admitted to government or ICAR-affiliated colleges. It is, however, unaffected by government employment. Registration for ICAR is expected to begin in the first week of July 2022, and registration for AGRICET is expected to begin in the second week of July 2022.
