The Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research (MCAER), Pune is a Statutory Body that is responsible to coordinate in the education and research under the four agricultural universities of Maharashtra.

The Government of Maharashtra in association with the Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Dairy Science and Fisheries finalises the admission procedure for Agricultural courses offered at various universities, reservation of seats and distribution of seats. Details related to admission are released on the MCAER website. The Online Admission Process for Agriculture courses is handled by the Kalp Technologies Private limited KPTL, Pune after meeting with ARA.

Maharashtra B Tech Agriculture Engineering/ B Tech Food Technology Eligibility Criteria

Following are the minimum eligibility criteria for admissions in B Tech Agricultural courses in Maharashtra:

  • The candidate must have passed Class XII from Maharashtra Board or equivalent examination.

  • The candidate must have opted PCM or PCMB with English as one of the subjects in the Intermediate studies.

  • The minimum % of marks obtained in Class XII should be 50%. For SC/ ST/ Handicapped the minimum % should be 40%.

  • The minimum age of the candidate to apply for B Tech Agricultural course is 16 years.

  • The candidate must have appeared in the Common Entrance Test (CET) which is considered for admission in the course. Scorecard of MHT-CET/JEE/AIEEA-UG is used for admission.

Maharashtra B Tech Agriculture Engineering/ B Tech Food Technology Application Form 2020

Maha-agriadmission.in released the online application form for admission in UG Agricultural course admissions. Candidates must read the instructions carefully before filling in the online application form for Maharashtra B Tech Agriculture Application form. The applications are only accepted in online mode. No offline copy of the application will be considered for admission.

Step 1: Complete the Online Application

Candidates must visit the official website Maha-agriadmission.in to find the online application form for B Tech Agriculture course. Detailed requirements in the application form must be filled correctly. After filling in the online application form, the candidate must upload the scanned copy of the signature,passport-sized photograph and required documents.

Step 2: Application Fees

There is no application fee to fill in the online application form for the Maharashtra B Tech Agriculture course. However, the candidates who have not appeared in MHT- CET must pay Rs. 800/- as the application fees. The reserved category candidates must pay the application fees of Rs. 600/-. Application fee payment is accepted in online mode.

Step 3: Upload the Required Documents

Candidates must upload the required documents along with the application form. Following are the list of documents required:

  • Marksheet of Class X and Class XII

  • Scorecard of Common Entrance Test

  • School/ College leaving certificate

  • BonafideCertificate‟ issued from Agriculture College/Institute, if applicable

  • Domicile Certificate

  • Migration Certificate, in case a candidate from another State is not able to produce a Leaving Certificate.

  • Caste validity certificate, if applicable

  • Sports Quota Certificate, if applicable

Maharashtra B Tech Agriculture Engineering/ B Tech Food Technology Admission Process 2020

B Tech Agricultural course admission is done through centralised admission process. The online admission process for admission in State Agricultural Universities is managed by the KTPL, Pune.

Admission for B Tech. Agricultural courses are done on Merit based. CET scorecard and marks obtained in previous years of study is considered for admission. The merit list of the candidates is displayed on the official website of the university.

Centralized Admission Process (CAP)

Display of merit list is followed by the Centralised Admission Process. It is an online procedure through which the candidates have the flexibility to prioritise and confirm the seat allotment in a specific Institute.

Once the required documents are verified by the College, the candidate must pay the acceptance fees in online mode. The acceptance fee is INR 1000/- .

All required documents and information added in the online application form is properly scrutinised before the confirmation of admission. The candidates must ensure to enter accurate information in the application form failing which the admission of the candidate may be rejected.

Once a seat is allotted, the candidate must visit the college in person for document verification. They must carry with them the original documents for verification and the printed copy of the admission allotment letter that can be downloaded by login to the official website.

Once documents are verified, the candidate must pay the initial tuition fees as defined by the Institute /College. The college also issued the receipt of payment.

Seats that remain vacant after various counselling rounds are filled through spot admission round.
