MHT CET Physics Difficulty Level

According to the analysis of the MHT CET Physics section of the previous year, the difficulty level of all the shifts collectively was ranging from moderate to difficult. The topics with high weightage were wave optics, thermodynamics, laws of motion, capacitance and resistors, electrostatics and current electricity and magnetism. The total number of questions was 50 and 37+ was considered to be a good attempt. The difficulty level of the Physics section was higher than JEE Mains. Some questions from JEE Main 2027 and 2018 were asked. 20 to 22 questions were straightforward emphasizing on basic theory knowledge and formulas whereas other questions were lengthy.

What is the weightage for the MHT CET 2025 exam ?

As per the MHT CET syllabus 2025 and  the weightage of PCM and PCB prescribed by the Maharashtra CET Cell, 20% weightage is provided to the Class 11 topics and the remaining 80% weightage is allotted  to the Class 12 topics of the Maharashtra Board.

Physics is not my strongest subject. What should I do to prepare for the MHT CET?

Revise your concepts thoroughly. Do not engage in rote memorization. Just attempt to figure out where each formula came from. RS Agarwal books would be really beneficial in opening your analytical mind. If you have time, try answering problems from that book and looking up Objective Physics.

What is the MHT CET's marking scheme and overall duration?

Except for Math, each question in the MHT CET is worth one mark (2 marks). The exam has a total time limit of 180 minutes. You will have three hours to answer 150 questions.
