Tie-Breaking Criteria to Allot State-Quota Rank

This year, the NEET 2025 Tie-Breaking Policy has been revised and computer technology and human intervention have been removed. Below is a thorough explanation of the updated tie-breaking policy for deciding which students deserve a higher NEET 2025 rank if scores are same.

  • 1st Criterion : A higher rank will be awarded to those who scored higher in biology.

  • 2nd Criterion : Test-takers will be rated higher if they have a better percentile in Chemistry.

  • 3rd Criterion : Should the first two criteria fail to break the tie, candidates with the highest Physics score will be given preference over the others.

  • 4th Criterion : Applicants with lower marks in terms of wrong responses in all three topics.

  • 5th Criterion: Students will receive a higher rank in the fifth criterion if they have attempted fewer incorrect questions in the Biology section.

  • 6th Criterion : Students will receive a higher rank in Chemistry if they have a smaller percentage of wrong answers.

  • 7th  Criterion : Students with lower scores on the NEET 2025 Physics multiple-choice exam will be given preference if the first six rules are unable to break the tie.
