Dear Student,
IGNOU is one of the oldest and largest central distance education universities in India. It was founded in 1985 and at present it has been declared the largest higher education university by the UNESCO. It has 21 Schools of studies, 67 regional centres and more than 810 faculty members and is accredited by the NAAC with an A ++ grade. The courses are offered at the degree, diploma, certificate, and PhD levels in streams like commerce, computers, arts, science, nutrition, digital marketing, etc. The university provides study material to students through different channels.
The IGNOU courses are conducted through the Open and Online Distance Learning (ODL) Model. The most popular method is to send the course material by post. Apart from this, resources are provided on the IGNOU E-Content application as well as shared through channels like Gyan Vani FM, Gyan Darshan Channel, and Radio Broadcasts. The course curriculum is based on theory and assignment components. Based on the project work submitted by the candidates and the marks obtained in the written exams, the final results are released. For every semester, Re-Registration is to be done. Further, there are more than 35,000 academic counsellors who cater to the doubts of students from all subjects.
