LPU runs B.Sc. (Forensic Sciences) with a Duration : 3 yrs. (6 Semesters). The program deals with theoretical and practical aspects in all the areas of criminalistics which demonstrates the area of concentration such as crime scene investigation, forensic biology, forensic chemistry and toxicology. Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam): Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Biotechnology) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST. For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. (5% relaxation to North-East states and Sikkim candidates or Defence Personnel and their Dependents or Wards of Kashmiri Migrants) Admission Criteria: Merit in LPUNEST, subject to fulfilling eligibility criteria.

At LPU you need to have 60 percent aggregate marks in class 12 with either medical or nonmedical or equivalent. The program deals with a theoretical and practical background in all the areas of criminalistics which demonstrates proficiencies in laboratory skills like forensic molecular biology, forensic chemistry, and toxicology. It aims to make the student understand and apply the basic concepts of forensic biology, chemistry, and toxicology in forensic sciences. Make adept to perform procedures as per laboratory standards in the area of forensic toxicology, fingerprint examination, and DNA analysis to propose solutions for criminal offense investigation. Enable the student to apply the fundamentals of basic sciences, fingerprint, questioned document examination, and DNA fingerprinting technique. Dear Aspirant, I have no idea about the eligibility criteria for admission to forensic science at KU Tamilnadu but being an alumnus of LPU I wanna tell you that you should have passed with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Biotechnology) or equivalent. Moreover, you need to qualify for the LPUNEST exam conducted by LPU. If you have not studied English as a subject, then you must have to provide proof of medium of instruction in English from your school or college.

Dear Student

Students who would like to pursue a BA Criminology course must fit the following eligibility criteria.

  • Candidates should have completed their Class 12 or equivalent, with an aggregate of 50% marks are eligible to enroll for this programme.
  • Candidates should have taken a Science or Arts stream for their higher secondary education are preferred.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc Forensic Science

The candidate must have passed class 12th or equivalent from a recognized board. The candidate must have studied Mathematics and Physics as the main subjects in class 12th along with one of the optional subjects as Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science
