NITs admission process is conducted through the counselling process of JEE Main carried out by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Candidates are selected for the counselling based on their merit in the JEE Main exam.
The placement statistics of each NITs vary depending upon factors such as the branch of engineering, the academic performance of the students, and the demand for skills in the job market. However, on average, most NITs have a placement rate of around 80-90%, with some institutes reporting a placement rate of almost 100%.
The eligibility criteria of minimum 75% marks in class 12 is required at the time of securing admission in the NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. You can apply and appear in the JEE Mains 2025 exam irrespective of your class 12 marks.
A score of 250 and above is considered to be a good score in the JEE Main 2025 exam which is equivalent to 15000 to 35000 rank and 90 to 99 percentile. With this, candidates can land admission into top NITs such as NIT Delhi, NIT Rourkela, etc., and also qualify for the JEE Advanced 2025 exam.
