AFCAT 2025 Result: Calculation of Score

The marking scheme of the AFCAT 2025 result is designed by the Indian Air Force, and aspirants are given marks accordingly. It follows the negative marking scheme. Check below pointers to know in brief:

  • Three marks shall be added to applicants for each right response (+3).
  • One mark shall be deducted for every wrong response (-1).
  • No mark will be awarded or deducted for unattempted questions (0).

Now, add up the total correct and incorrect responses to get an applicant's final AFCAT result 2025. You may also calculate your AFCAT 2025 scores by using the format of the exam and its scoring guidelines.

AFCAT Marking Scheme 2025

The AFCAT question paper consists of 100 questions and the total marks are 100. The level of Numerical Ability questions is of Class 10. The level of questions in other disciplines is graduate level. The following is the AFCAT 2025 marking scheme:

  • Each right answer is awarded +3 marks.
  • For each wrong answer, a -1 mark is deducted.
  • There are no marks (0) awarded for questions that are not attempted.
  • Before the announcement of the AFCAT 2025 results, the marks earned by candidates are normalised.

AFCAT Marks Normalisation Scheme 2025

IAF has introduced a new method of mark normalisation for the AFCAT exam 2025. This is to ensure that marks of all applicants are assessed on a proper scale, independent of the difficulty level of question papers and students who appear for the examination.

The marks of each candidate will be adjusted to a standard scale. This will bring every candidate at par and offer an opportunity equal to others for progress further to the next step of the selection process. The scheme which IAF has adopted is AFCAT Normalization Scheme 2025. The formula is as follows:

AFCAT 2024 Normalisation Scheme Process

Scoring System

  • 3 marks for a correct answer. Every right answer gets 3 marks, emphasizing correctness.
  • 1 mark negative if the wrong answer is given. The student must not guess; in case of any wrong answer, there will be a deduction of 1 mark, hence forcing someone to think deeply
  • No (0) marks for blank questions. No marks for a blank question; the urge to try and figure something hence is explained.

Score Normalization Procedure

  • Mean and Standard Deviation Shift: Each shift has its average score—mean and spread of scores – standard deviation calculated.
  • Shift Scaling: Equating of scores or adjusting for shifts is made in such a way that the tests have the same mean and standard deviation relative to the whole test data for each shift; that is, the scores marginally tend to fall from the shift seen as higher and rise marginally from those such identified as lower on a common standard.
  • Final Normalized Score: This determines your ultimate score by using this adjusted score where we can all share a common reference point to ensure that we all compete fairly.

AFCAT 2025 Result: Correction of Discrepancies

The process of generating and declaring AFCAT 2025 results is completely automated. In case of discrepancies in the results, students can bring it to the notice of the examination authority by following these steps:

  • Step 1: Checking of Official AFCAT Website: First of all, check the official AFCAT website for any alerts regarding anomalies in the results. If there is a notification, follow the provided instructions.
  • Step 2: Contact AFCAT Helpline: In case no notice is found on the official website, candidates need to contact the AFCAT helpdesk at 011-26567270.
  • Step 3: Lodge a Formal Complaint: If the candidates are not satisfied with the response of the helpline, they can send a written complaint to AFCAT authorities.

Note: AFCAT authorities will consider the matter or complaint and take appropriate action. If your concern is found to be valid, necessary adjustments shall be made to your result.

What After the Release of AFCAT 2025 Result?

To be eligible for the AFCAT Written Exam 2025, an applicant must first meet the IAF-set cutoff. After they pass the written exam, they can take part in the interview phase of the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB). Four AFSB locations exist — three in Gandhinagar, two in Mysuru, one in Varanasi, and one in Dehradun. However, candidates for the flying branch have only three options: Varanasi, Mysore, and Dehradun.

As it will only be arranged for eligible applicants, they must keep an eye on the AFCAT AFSB interview process timeline 2025. They have to confirm the time and place of their interview and download the AFSB Call Letter from the official website of the conducting body.

AFCAT Result 2025: Written Exam

Students must devise effective strategies to crack the AFCAT AFSB interview round. The interview session will test the candidate's decision-making skills, problem-solving prowess, and basic knowledge of the Air Force. Candidates must be physically and mentally fit to qualify the challenging interview conducted by the Indian Air Force.

AFCAT Result 2025: AFSB Interview

The AFSB interview is likely to be held in three rounds or stages. The first one is the Officer Intelligence Rating Test which is quickly followed by a Psychological test.
