Previously, the NEET MDS 2025 exam was conducted by NBE on March 18, 2025. The NEET MDS 2025 exam was conducted in a computer-based mode in 56 cities across India. How to Calculate NEET MDS 2025 Result:

The NEET MDS 2025 exam had 240 multiple-choice questions, with 4 options for each. Candidates receive 4 marks for each correct answer and a deduction of 1 mark for each incorrect response. No marks are deducted for unanswered questions. Thus, the maximum score achievable is 960.

NEET MDS Percentile Vs Percentage

Candidates often get confused between their percentile rank and percentage. Go through the following table to understand the difference between NEET MDS Percentile and NEET MDS Percentage.

NEET MDS Result 2025: Tie-Breaking Criteria

Here is the list of tie-breaking criteria that is kept in mind for NEET MDS 2025 Result:

  • Candidates with a higher number of incorrect answers in both Part A and B of the exam shall be placed at a lower merit position in comparison to others.

  • Candidates who have scored higher in Part B of the exam will be placed at a higher merit position in comparison to others.

  • Candidates with a higher number of incorrect answers in Part B of the question paper will be placed at a lower merit position in comparison to others.

  • If none of the above works, the final result will be decided on the basis of the date of birth of the candidates. The older candidate shall be placed at a higher merit position in comparison to others.

Types of NEET MDS 2025 Merit List

NEET MDS 2025 rank is the overall merit position of a candidate among the rest of the candidates who appeared in the NEET MDS 2025 examination. The following three types of merit lists are released after the announcement of the result.

  • NEET MDS 2025 rank: This list represents the overall merit position of the aspirants as compared to the remaining candidates who have appeared in the NEET MDS 2025 test.

  • All India 50 Percent Quota Rank: This rank is for the students who qualify as eligible for the All India 50% Quota. It is the overall merit position of such candidates amongst the rest of the reserved candidates who appeared in the examination. 

  • All India 50% quota Category Rank: This rank is for the candidates who belong to SC/ ST/ OBC categories. It is the overall merit position of such candidates amongst the rest of the candidates belonging to the same category. It should be noted that these candidates must also be found eligible for the All India 50% Quota Counselling.

What After NEET MDS 2025 result?

Once the NEET MDS Result 2025 is published, the candidates eligible for admission to MDS courses are advised to apply to various postgraduate dental colleges across India. The admission process for MDS courses across postgraduate dental colleges is conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Therefore, candidates must register themselves on the official DGHS portal for the admission process, and participate in the following counselling process for MDS courses in various dental colleges. During the counselling process, candidates are required to exercise their choice filling and locking of colleges and courses, after which seat allotment will be based on merit. Lastly, selected candidates are required to report to their allotted college for admission after successfully passing the document verification.

However, it is important for the candidates to keep all their original documents ready fir the document verification to avoid any misinformation during the counseling process. Candidates must produce the same documents as the ones they have entered the details of during their online registration process. The list of documents required for NEET MDS 2025 admission may vary from college to college. However, on an average the above-mentioned list includes NEET MDS 2025 scorecard, mark sheets of BDS or equivalent exam, provisional or permanent registration certificate issued by DCI or State Dental Council, proof of age, and category certificate (if applicable). Once the MEET MDS Counselling 2025 concludes along with other admission formalities, the candidates can start their postgraduate dental studies from their desired colleges, and pursue their careers in the field of dentistry

NEET MDS 2025 Counselling

NEET MDS Counselling will begin after the announcement of the NEET MDS 2025 Result. NEET MDS Counselling 2025 will cater to admissions in the following categories:

All India 50% Quota Seats

The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) of the Directorate General of Health Services, Government of India, will handle counseling for candidates in the reserved category. This is solely based on NEET MDS 2025 results.

State Quota Seats

Designated counseling authorities of respective States/Union Territories will manage reservations of NEET MDS seats within their regions. They'll conduct counseling sessions under State Quota based on NEET MDS results, considering eligibility criteria, regulations, and reservation policies.

Admission to Private Dental Colleges, Institutes, Universities, Deemed Universities

Counseling sessions for seats in private institutions will be conducted by their designated counseling authorities. These sessions will allocate seats based on NEET MDS scores, adhering to regulations, eligibility criteria, and reservation policies.

Admission to Armed Forces Medical Service Institutions 

Counseling for admissions to Armed Forces Medical Service Institutions is overseen by The Army Dental Corps, Ministry of Defense, Government of India. This process is based on NEET-MDS scores.

Unfortunately, a 108 score in the NEET MDS 2024 is not enough for you to apply for admission across dental colleges. According to the official notification, the NEET MDS Cutoff 2024 for General/EWS Category is 263 (50th percentile), for General PwBD is 246 (45th percentile) and for SC/ST/OBC, including PwBD is 230 (40th percentile).
