Stages in AIIMS BSc Nursing Exam
The AIIMS BSc nursing exam has two stages namely a theory paper and a personal interview round. Students can find the stages mentioned below.

Stage 1: Written or Theoretical Examination Exam Pattern 2025
AIIMS BSc post basic nursing stage 1 exam pattern 2025 consists of a computer-based test (CBT) mode. The stage 1 exam is held for 90 minutes and there are multiple questions asked in the exam paper. For every correct answer students are awarded section-wise marks and for every wrong answer โ
marks are deducted from the total marks.
There are several sections in the written examination such as Fundamentals of Nursing, and Medical-Surgical Nursing. Medical-surgical nursing includes topics like Anatomy, Physiology & Pharmacology, Obstetrics Nursing and Midwifery, Pediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing and Professional Trends in Nursing. Students' overall nursing academic knowledge is tested in the exam.
Stage 2: Personal Interview and Assessment
After the stage 1 exam is completed, the AIIMS Delhi releases a merit list of students who qualify and are selected for the examination. Based on the merit list released by the AIIMS Delhi authorities, students are called personal interview/assessment rounds. Stage 2 carries 30 marks out of 100 marks in the examination. In this stage, students' knowledge beyond academic excellence is tested by the authorities.
Students are awarded marks based on their overall performance in the interview/assessment. Further, their evaluation is conducted by the exam authorities and then an overall final merit list is released by the exam authorities. Students who pass both rounds are selected by the AIIMS Delhi authorities. Students will have to meet the eligibility criteria set by the exam authorities to qualify for the examination. - Past academic record in class 12 or equivalent examination.
- Past academic performance in the last studied nursing degree.
- Overall work performance as a Staff nurse in a recognised medical clinic or hospital.
