IIMC Participating Colleges Overview

IIMC Delhi is a government-run institute supported by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting of the Government of India. The IIMC Entrance Exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The institute has headquarters in New Delhi and five regional campuses at Aizawl (Mizoram), Amravati (Maharashtra), Dhenkanal (Odisha), Jammu (J&K), and Kottayam (Kerala).

There are 430 seats in IIMC in total. The aim of the IIMC Entrance Examination is to shortlist the highly-deserving candidates for the different mass communication courses offered by the institution. Journalism, TV & Radio Journalism, and Advertising and Public Relations are popular courses offered by IIMC Delhi. These courses are offered in various languages, including English, Hindi, Odia, Marathi, Malayalam, and Urdu.

IIMC Participating Institute

Description

IIMC New Delhi

Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the Computer Based Test (CBT) at different centres conducted by NTA followed by GD and PI round. At the PG level, IIMC Delhi offers one-year PG diploma courses in five specialisations. The institute also offers short-term one-week to 12-week courses on media relations and engagement, Public relations for officials of various departments of the Government of India, PSUs, and Armed Forces.

IIMC Jammu (J & K)

Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has started the registration process for PG diploma courses for the 2023-2023 academic year via CUET. The institute offers a PG diploma course in English Journalism. The selection will be based on an online IIMC entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). 

IIMC Dhenkanal (Odisha)

It offers Post Graduate Diploma journalism courses in English and Odia, an official Indian language spoken mainly in Odisha. The institute provides training, research and consultancy services for the central and state governments, public sector undertakings, universities as well as foreign institutions and international agencies.

IIMC Aizawl (Mizoram)

The Institute is housed in temporary premises provided by the Aizawl University and runs the PG Diploma in English Journalism at present.

IIMC Amravati (Maharashtra)

IIMC Amravati envisions the upliftment of society and is playing a crucial role in the development of society through communication, media education, research, extension and training. The institute offers PG Diploma in Marathi Journalism and PG Diploma in English Journalism. 

IIMC Kottayam (Kerala)

The institute offers PG Diploma in English Journalism and PG Diploma in Malayalam Journalism. Besides the classroom lessons, special lectures, lecture-demonstrations, hands-on-the job experiments, institutional visits, national seminars, online interactions and webinars are organized for the students throughout the academic year. 

IIMC Counselling Process 2023

A separate category-wise merit list will be prepared for each course. The list of the candidates selected for admission will be prepared on the basis of the combined marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and in the interview /group discussion. The weightage for the written examination and the interview/group discussion will be 75:25.

IIMC will send the call letter to the qualified candidates inviting them for group discussion and personal interview. Candidates will find the counselling venue on their website along with the admission notice. It is mandatory for the selected candidates to reach the venue exactly given in the call letter to participate in the GD & PI. Candidates must carry their original documents along with them at the time of counselling for verification. After the selection of the candidates, the final selection list of candidates will be released.
