IPU CET 2022 Exam Analysis

The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) conducts the annual Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to various courses. The exam analysis of IPU CET 2022 will be shared on this page.

GGSIPU will consider JEE Main scores for admission to the B.Tech courses available in the institution also. Similarly, for admission into management programmes, aspirants will have to appear for CAT, marks of which will be considered by the institution. 

Paper Pattern of Previous Year IPU CET for B.Tech

The exam didn’t throw any surprises as such and was on predictable lines. There were approximately 1 lakh engineering aspirants across the length and width of the country who appeared in this exam; although a majority of them were from Delhi NCR.

For a well-prepared student who had done a thorough study of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for 12th class boards or for JEE Mains, this paper was on the easier side, as most of the questions were very direct and simply checked students' concept clarity.

Out of 150 questions, a decent number of attempts would be close to 130 plus at an accuracy of 85 to 90%.

This means, 115 to 120 correct questions and that will result in 460 plus marks out of 600 and a rank under 4500, which is a decent score and rank.

For getting admission in the Top 5 Engineering colleges of IPU, a rank of under 5000 is required, which can be expected with a score of 450.

For getting admission in University School of Information and Communication Technology (USICT), Delhi  and Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Kashmere Gate, one should get a rank under 500 and that is achievable at a score of 500 plus.

At a score of 400, one can expect a rank of 12000 to 15000, which can also fetch a seat in engineering colleges of IPU like Guru Premsukh Memorial College of Engineering (GPMCE), Delhi , Northern India Engineering College (NIEC), Delhi, HMR Institute of Technology & Management (HMRITM), New Delhi, Ansal Institute of Technology (AIT), Gurgaon, Bhagwan Parshuram Institute of Technology (BPIT), New Delhi.
