NEST 2026 Counselling Process

NEST counselling 2026 will be conducted for the students who will qualify in NEST entrance examination 2026. Once NEST 2026 results are out, the counselling process of NEST 2026 will begin soon.  

NEST 2026 counselling procedure will be conducted in offline mode in various rounds. To participate in NEST 2026 counselling, you have to report to the counselling venue on the specified date and time.

NEST Counselling 2026 will be conducted based on the merit list of NEST 2026. Students should keep in mind that on the basis of the merit list issued, they will be called for NEST Counselling.  After completion of each NEST counselling 2026 round, the conducting body will issue a list of students for the NEST round as per the vacancy of seats. You are requested to check NEST 2026 important dates and information on this page. 

Note: The participating institutes can limit the number of invited students to admission to a reasonable extent. Getting a merit rank by satisfying SMAS and MAP criteria does not automatically entitle a candidate to be called for admission/counselling.

NEST Counselling 2026 - Round 1

The NEST 2026 counselling is organised in the following manner:

• Candidates must first register for the NEST counselling round in the first phase of NEST counselling 2026. NEST counselling 2026 registration is expected to take place in July 2026. After completing the registration formalities, candidates must print the following forms: Student Basic Details, Student Medical History, Undertaking by the student and parent/guardian, and Format of Affidavit [anti-ragging] by Student and Parent/Guardian.
• Candidates need to fill out these forms and submit them during the NEST counselling procedure 2026. All qualified candidates will have to report at the counselling venue as per the prescribed date and time. 
• Candidates should pay attention that the first round of NEST counselling will continue till all the seats are not filled or the admission queue prepared on the basis of the attendance of candidates on the day of NEST counselling 2026 does not end.

Documents Needed During NEST Counselling 2026

Follwing is the list of documents required for NEST 2026 counselling:

• All Mark sheets/ Grade reports and Certificates

• Original class 10 and 12 Transfer Certificates

• Leaving Certificate and Character Certificate from School

• SC, ST or non-creamy layer of OBC categories have to produce their Original Caste Certificate as per Central Govt.

• A medical Certificate needs to be presented if the candidate is Physically Challenged (PC). A certificate should be issued by the Medical Officer of any Government Hospital with the description of the kind and the degree of disability.

• In case the Date of Birth is not mentioned in the class X Certificate, a Date of Birth (DOB) Certificate is required for the same.

• The original E-admit card, counselling letter from ICAR should also be presented to the candidate.

• 4 recent Passport size colored Photographs need to be submitted, having the candidate's Name and Date mentioned at the back.

• Domicile Certificate

• Authority letter/Undertaking in the prescribed format, if the candidate is unable to attend the counselling personally.

• Demand Draft has drawn in favor of NISER, payable at Bhubaneswar or in favour of UM-DAE CBS, payable at Mumbai, wherever candidates are appearing for NEST counselling 2026.

NEST Counselling 2026 - Round 2/ Withdrawal of Admission

The second round of NEST counselling will take place based on the number of seats left vacant at the institutes. It is not a joint counselling session. Each participating institute establishes its own waiting list. The vacant seats are filled based on the waitlists posted on the websites of the participating institutions. If candidates fail to meet any of the criteria specified by the participating institutes, their admission may be cancelled. If a candidate wishes to withdraw their admission, they may do so via mail or in person with the following information.

• Name

• Date of birth

• Roll Number

• Application Number/ Registration Number 

• Counselling venue

• Class 12 exam percentage

Note: The dates for the second round of counselling will be released by the participating institutes separately on their websites. After the first round of NEST counselling 2026 conducts and also withdrawal deadline is complete, the institute will release a waiting list on the official website.
