BITSAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria

BITSAT eligibility criteria 2025 is issued by Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani on its official website www.bitsadmission.com. The BITSAT eligibility criteria 2025 refers to the terms and conditions that candidates must comply with before filling out the BITSAT application form 2025. As per the BITSAT eligibility criteria, candidates should have cleared class 12 with the required scores and subjects. Candidates should thoroughly go through the eligibility criteria of the BITSAT 2025 before appearing for the entrance exam. BITSAT Application Form 2025 is expected to be released in the month of January & May for Phases 1 and 2. BITSAT 2025 eligibility criteria include age limit, qualification requirements, required minimum aggregate, and related conditions.

BITSAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria (B.Tech/Integrated M.Sc)

The eligibility criteria of BITSAT 2025 for the B.Tech/ Integrated M.Sc course are as follows -

  • The candidates should have cleared the 10+2 Standard Examination from a recognized Central or State Board
  • The candidates must have passed Class 12 with subjects including Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics
  • A minimum of 75% marks in aggregate is mandatory in these subjects
  • It is important to have a minimum of 60% marks in each subject to be eligible for BITSAT
  • Proficiency in English is a must.

Note:

  • Those who get 1st rank in their board examination will get direct admission in the course of their choice but they must produce proof of the first rank
  • The candidate has to be between the age group of 21 and 25 years
Colleges Accepting Exam BITSAT :

Direct Admission Policy of BITS Campuses

As per the Direct Admission Policy of BITSAT, candidates who top in the science stream with subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology in Standard 12 are eligible for admission under the ‘Direct admission to Board toppers’ scheme. Candidates with Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible for admission in B. Pharma only. The evaluating criteria of the toppers have been enumerated below - 

  • The topper should have taken Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology subjects in Standard 12
  • The candidate must have secured the highest aggregate percentage in Class 12 amongst all other students having Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology subjects in Standard 12. The aggregate marks will be calculated taking into consideration all the subjects which are required to clear the class 12 examination from a recognized board. The marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology subjects must be included in the aggregate irrespective of whether they are treated as major/optional/ elective subjects in the scorecard.
  • As per the declaration of the Board, this admission offer is only open to the candidate who has secured the first position in the board. Applicants availing this scheme are required to provide documentary proof supporting their claim along with a class 10 scorecard, class 12 marksheet, a letter issued by the Board declaring the candidate as the topper of the specific stream in class 12 examination, documents pertaining to extracurricular activities etc. The admission committee might decide not to make an offer under this scheme in case the data available for a particular board before the specified deadline is insufficient or incoherent. In such scenarios, the final decision will lie in the hands of the Vice-chancellor.

BITSAT Eligibility Criteria 2025 for International Student Admission Scheme

Candidates can check the detailed eligibility criteria of BITSAT 2025 specified for international candidates mentioned below:-

  • Candidates having foreign passports of any country apart from India are eligible to apply
  • Candidates should have cleared the class 12 exam with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry along with adequate proficiency in English. The qualifying exam should have been conducted by the country's Board of Higher/Senior Secondary Education, including those in India, or its equivalent examination such as the “A” levels (conducted by Cambridge International), the International Baccalaureate, etc.
  • Candidates should have secured a minimum 75% aggregate marks or 7.5 CGPA in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in the qualifying examination
  • Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA in each of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in the qualifying examination. Candidates must have minimum aggregate marks of 1160 in SAT which comprises Reading, Writing, Language and Maths Test
  • The scores of the candidates who have appeared for the SAT in the old format will be mapped using concordance tables available from the College Board (USA). The candidate should have written the SAT no earlier than February 1, 2021.

There is no BITSAT Reservation of Seats for any category of candidates and the admission is done purely on a merit basis. The level of competition for the exam is expected to be very high, and therefore, all the candidates should prepare accordingly for the exam.

Yes, candidates who have cleared class 12 in 2023 are eligible to appear for the BITSAT 2024 exam.

 

Is there any category-wise reservation of seats via BITSAT 2024?

There is no category-wise reservation in BITSAT. Seats are filled on the basis of merit obtained in the entrance examination.

 

What is the minimum score required by the international applicants as per BITSAT eligibility criteria 2024?

International applicants have the same BITSAT eligibility criteria as national candidates when it comes to marks acquired. International applicants are required to have valid SAT scores equivalent to 75% marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Maths (or Biology in the case of B.Pharm) and 60% in each of them as per the Indian state/central board.

What is the age limit to appear for BITSAT 2024?

There is no upper age limit to appear for BITSAT 2024. However, candidates must have cleared their class 12 exams in 2023 or 2024. Candidates who have appeared for their class 12 exams before that are not eligible for the exam.

Dear Student,

66% in 12th is not enough for you to apply for BITSAT. To be eligible for BITSAT, you must have a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology subjects in the 12th Class, with at least 60% marks in each of the subjects (PCM/ PCB). We suggest you go through the BITSAT eligibility criteria to get an idea and stay updated on the latest eligibility norms laid down by BITS authority.
