APLPCET is a computer-based exam, which is conducted in a single shift/ session. Candidates appearing for the exam must note that he/ she will have to mark answers on the computer screen. The exam pattern includes details about the list of subjects, weightage for each subject and marking scheme information. Candidates will be awarded one mark for each correct attempt or answer. There is no negative marking for wrong answers or unattempted questions. The candidates can check the tentative score after the conclusion of exam.

Current Affair - Sports, news, politics, entertainment, inventions, new technologies, book reviews. [it is advisable to read newspaper and surf the internet for all recent news and know about the latest inventions.]
Numerical Ability - There are four fundamental operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and sums of average. [Practice from Maths book of class 8th standard to 10th standard.]
Language - For Hindi - Hindi 2nd language syllabus of classes 8th to 10th, under Andhra Pradesh government.
For Telugu - Telugu 1st language syllabus of classes 8th to 10th, under Andhra Pradesh government.
Literature - Degree level syllabus of the language chosen by the candidate.

For General Category, the minimum qualifying mark is 35%. There is no minimum qualifying mark for candidates belong to reserved categories such as SC/ ST.
There is no negative marking in APLPCET for wrong answers or unattempted questions.
Literature is the most important section of APLPCET and it carries 40 marks.
