AP PGECET 2025 cutoffis prescribed by APSCHE only after the AP PGECET Result 2025 has been declared. It is expected that the cutoff of AP PGECET will be released tentatively in the first week of July, 2025. Candidates appearing for the AP PGECET 2025 exam must score a minimum of 25% of marks, i.e., 30 out of 120 to be eligible for the AP PGECET counselling 2025 process. All the candidates who will score the minimum cutoff specified by APSCHE will be declared eligible. However, the 25% minimum qualifying rule applies only to the General category, and there is no minimum qualifying mark or cutoff for candidates belonging to SC/ ST category students.

What is AP PGECET Cutoff?

AP PGECET cutoff is important to determine the rank of all the qualifiers for the entrance exam. Even though GATE aspirants are given first preference in the selection process, there is no minimum cutoff specified by APSCHE for GATE-qualified candidates. Candidates who will be registering through GATE score must note that he/she should have a minimum qualifying score the same to be eligible for the AP PGECET 2025 counselling process.

The participating colleges of AP PGECET counselling must note that the allocation of the seat is based on the opening rank of a specific college. Let us look at the example below for more details.

Example 1 - Let us assume that student ‘A’ secures the 20th rank in the AP PGECET exam. During the web counselling process, he opts for VR Siddhartha Engineering College and Computer Science Engineering as the priority. If a student ‘A’ is the first student to opt for a Computer Science Engineering course at VR Siddhartha, the opening rank of the respective college will be 20, and the seats will be allocated accordingly.

Example 2 - Let us assume that student ‘B’ secures 45th rank in the AP PGECET exam. During the web counselling process, he opts for Andhra Loyola Institute of Engineering and Technology (ALIET) and VLSI as the priority. If student ‘B’ is the first student to opt for AILET and VLSI as the priority, 45 is the opening rank for the respective college and course.
