CA Foundation 2025 Exam Pattern

Get a quick overview of the CA Foundation 2025 exam pattern below -

  • Each paper of the CA Foundation is of 100 marks. The respective sections of these 4 papers in the CA Foundation have separate weightages.
  • Papers 1 and 2 have descriptive-type questions, while Papers 3 and 4 have objective-based questions/ MCQ style.
  • Negative marking is applicable in Papers 3 and 4. For every wrong answer, 0.25 will be subtracted from the total score
  • Papers 1 and 2 do not have negative marking.
  • The exam will be conducted in offline mode. For Papers 1 and 2, the exam duration is 3 hours each. For Papers 3 and 4, it is 2 hours each.
  • Papers 1 and 2 have a total of 6 subjective type questions. Out of these questions, number 1 is compulsory for both papers. Out of the rest 5, 4 have to be attempted by the candidates.
  • Papers 3 and 4 have overall 100 questions, which are of 1 mark each.
  • The passing criteria in individual papers is 40%, while the overall aggregate must be at least 50%. Additionally, besides the said conditions, please note that out of 400 total marks, the aspirant has to obtain 200 minimum marks.
