The CLAT 2025 application form was launched on July 15, 2024. Eligible candidates can complete the CLAT form submission by October 15. Before beginning the CLAT 2025 application process, candidates must check if they qualify the CLAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria. 

The main stages of the CLAT application process are - candidate registration, filling out the application form, paying the application cost, uploading the necessary documents and submitting the form. Candidates must carefully fill in the fields of the online form and cross-check the data thoroughly before clicking on the submit button. Those who have cleared class 12 with at least 45 per cent aggregate marks are eligible to apply for the CLAT UG exam. On the other hand, applicants who have an LL.B degree are eligible to apply for CLAT PG.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2025

Applicants must review the CLAT 2025 eligibility criteria before applying for the entrance examination. 

UG CLAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria

  • Aspirants must have passed 10+2 or a similar examination with 45% marks or equivalent grades. 
  • For SC/ ST/ PwD applicants, 40% marks or similar is the minimum required.
  • There is no upper age bar for applicants appearing for CLAT UG 2025.
  • Students who will appear for the qualifying examination in March/ April 2025 can also apply for CLAT 2025. However, they will have to provide proof of their passing the last qualifying examination during the counselling process, or else they will not be considered for admission.

PG CLAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria

  • General/ OBC/ NRI category applicants must have an LLB degree with a minimum of 50% marks or an equal grade
  • SC/ ST/ PwD category aspirants must have obtained at least 45% marks or an identical grade.
  • Applicants who seek to appear for the last qualifying degree examination in April/ May 2025 are qualified to apply for CLAT PG 2025.
  • There is no upper age criterion for CLAT PG 2025.

CLAT Registration 2025 Window

CLAT registration 2025 is mandatory before the application process. The CLAT 2025 login window will contain certain fields the candidate has to fill in to complete the process and then click on the “Login” tab to begin filling out the CLAT 2025 application form.

How to Fill the CLAT Registration Form 2025?

Here are the major steps to fill out the CLAT registration form 2025. Please note that the registration link for CLAT UG and PG is the same.

Step 1 - CLAT 2025 Registration

  • To begin CLAT 2025 registration, candidates must visit the official portal - consortiumofnlus.ac.in and click on the link “Register for CLAT”. Once the link opens, applicants have to enter details such as name, mobile number, email address, password, confirm password and hit the “Register” button.
  • In the next step, they will be sent an OTP to the mobile number used for registration. They have to type the same for account validation.
  • Once validated, aspirants can use the login into the CLAT account with the help of the mobile number and password used while registering.

Step 2 - Filling CLAT Application Form 2025

To start filling out the CLAT application form 2025, candidates have to log into the portal with their mobile number and password. Once the applicants log into the CLAT account, they have to select the programme for study.

They will find the options - Under Graduate (UG) 5-Year LLB programme and Post Graduate (PG) 1-Year LLM programme. After picking up the course, they have to press the tab - “Apply for CLAT 2025”.

CLAT 2025 Application Form - Personal Information

In this part of the online form, aspirants have to type in details such as the applicant's name, date of birth, choose a category, gender, parent’s name/ guardian’s name, and upload their scanned photograph and signature.

CLAT 2025 Application Form - Communication Details 

Here, applicants have to enter their present and permanent communication address. 

CLAT 2025 Application Form - Qualifying Examination Details

Candidates have to select the qualifying examination from the drop-down menu and then proceed to furnish details such as the name of the education board/ university if they have appeared or will appear for the examination, year of passing, marks/ percentage secured etc.

CLAT 2025 Application Form - Test Centre Preferences

In this stage, applicants will have to add 3 test centres from the available list. Test Centre Preference 1 will be the examination venue which will be their 1st preference, and the rest 2 in decreasing order. The entrance test will be organised across India in more than 80 test centres such as New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Patna, Shillong, Amritsar, Kolkata, Ranchi, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Varanasi, Coimbatore etc.

CLAT 2025 Application Form - Reservation Criteria & Seat Intake

Applicants in this part have to select their respective reservation categories. They must check out the reservation criteria details, and seat intake for the participating NLUs and fill the particulars accordingly.

24 participating NLUs grant admission to the offered courses based on the performance of the candidates in CLAT. The participating NLUs aim to provide competitive standards of legal education in India.

Step 3:  Submission of the CLAT 2025 Application Form

Before submitting the CLAT 2025 application form, applicants are required to review the online form once and ensure that they have provided all the details accurately. They must not add any incorrect information as it will cancellation of their candidature. In the subsequent step, they must give their consent to the declaration form and complete the form submission.

Step 4: Pay CLAT 2025 Registration Fee

After form submission, applicants need to make the CLAT 2025 application fee payment. The payment has to be made via debit card/ credit card/ net banking. While paying the fee, aspirants can purchase CLAT previous years’ question papers as well by providing additional charges. Once the payment is done, the question papers can be accessed by the applicants from their accounts. Please note that the application fee will vary depending on the reservation category.

CLAT Application Form 2025: List of Documents

Enlisted below are the documents required to fill up the CLAT 2025 application form.

  • A recent photograph in the prescribed size and format

  • Mark sheets or Degree certificates (10th, 12th and graduation or any other higher qualification).

  • Scanned copy of caste certificate (for SC/ ST/ SAP candidates) in PDF format only.

  • Domicile Certificate in support of candidate's claim for consideration under State Quota.

  • Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking details for online fee payment of CLAT.

Apart from the above, a valid email address and contact details and a computer system/ laptop with good internet connectivity is required.

CLAT 2025 Application Form Correction

Here are the steps to edit the CLAT application form 2025. Please note only selective fields can be corrected during the CLAT application form editing window. 

  • Candidates have to log in to the applicant portal on the official website.
  • Then they must click on the "Print Application" button and review the details to confirm if they are accurate.
  • If the aspirants need to make some changes, then they must click the "Edit Application" button.
  • Once they make the necessary changes, then they must go through the application form carefully and hit the "Submit Form" button.

CLAT 2025 Registration Fee

Applicants must note that the CLAT 2025 application form will not be accepted unless they make the payment for the CLAT 2025 registration fee/ application form fee. Please note that the payment can be done via online modes only. Please remember once the CLAT registration window 2025 is closed, students will not be able to complete the CLAT 2025 application process.

Steps to Recover CLAT 2025 Login Password

If an individual has forgotten or lost CLAT log-in password, he/she has to visit the registered account. The steps provided below need to be followed to recover the CLAT 2025 Login Password.

Step 1: Visit the official website of CLAT Consortium.

Step 2: Select on 'Log-in' option.

Step 3: Next, click on 'Forgot Password?'. 

Step 4: A new window will pop-up on the screen.

Step 5: Enter your registered mobile number and click on 'Request OTP'.

Step 6: After receiving the OTP, select the option that says 'Reset Password'.

Step 7: Enter the registered mobile number, received OTP and new password.

Step 8: Click on 'Change Password'.

Your password will be changed and an e-mail will be received on the registered e-mail address regarding the same.

  • Candidates do not have to send the hard copy of the CLAT Application Form to the Consortium Office.
  • It is not a compulsion to complete the entire CLAT Application Process in one go. Applicants can save the application form at any point and come back to continue filling it.
  • Application correction of CLAT application form is sometimes not available so candidates need to be extra careful while saving and submitting it.
  • All the spelling and information need to be the same as that on the certificates/ mark sheets/ identity proof. Any changes or misinformation can lead to disqualification of candidature.
  • All the information or details provided by the applicants must be correct and authentic.
  • Once the application form has been submitted, no changes in the preference order for the NLUs is allowed.
  • If an individual fills more than 1 CLAT application form, only the last online application form is considered.
  • The application fee is non-refundable.
