CLAT 2025 Seat Allotment

CLAT 2025 Seat Allotment: CLAT 2025 seat allotment lists will be released at the end of each counselling round. A total of 5 seat allotment lists of CLAT 2025 will be released by all participating NLUs in which eligible students will be offered admission.

The seat allocation is declared during the respective phases of the counselling process of CLAT. The allotment lists will provide the details of allocation NLU-wise for UG and PG law courses and candidates will have to choose freeze or float options. 

Candidates who register for CLAT counselling but do not find their name in the initial allotment list can check their allotment status in the subsequent rounds of seat allotment.

How to Check CLAT 2025 Seat Allotment?

Here is the step-by-step method for CLAT 2025 seat allotment - 

• Aspirants can check CLAT 2025 Seat Allotment results online through the official website.
• They need to navigate to the official website and click on CLAT 2025.
• The seat allotment lists will be posted on the website.
• They can review the seat allotment lists for the courses for which they have applied by downloading them.

CLAT 2024 Seat Allotment Detailed Process

CLAT 2024 seat allotment process will begin after the registration for the CLAT 2024 counselling is done. The step-by-step seat allotment process for CLAT can be explained below

Release of Merit List 

The CLAT merit list will be released for both UG and PG courses at the time of the result announcement. Through the merit list, candidates get to know about their All India rank including category rank which will decide if the candidate will get a seat or not through CLAT seat allotment. CLAT seat allotment is declared on the basis of 2 factors given below 

1. Candidate's rank in the merit list 
2. NLU preference as stated by the candidate at the time of CLAT registration

Release of CLAT Invite List 

CLAT invite list will be released, which will have the names and admit card number of the candidates who are shortlisted for the counselling and seat allotment.

CLAT Counselling Process

Candidates whose names are there on the invite list will be issued CLAT counselling call letters, which can be downloaded by logging into the CLAT official website. Candidates will have to pay the registration fee for counselling and that will be adjusted with the semester fee at the allotted NLU. During CLAT counselling, candidates will have to submit their documents as asked by the universities. If the online counselling facility is there, then candidates will have to submit the scanned documents through the CLAT login portal or else they may have to go to the counselling venue.

Release of CLAT Seat Allotment 

CLAT seat allotment will be conducted in 5 rounds. After each round, CLAT provisional seat allotment will be released. For each NLU, a separate seat allotment will be released.

CLAT 2024 Seat Allotment Guidelines

Here are the main guidelines for CLAT 2024 seat allotment -

• The First Indicative List shall be published on the official website of the conducting body of CLAT 2024.
• The provisionally selected candidates from different categories shall be able to take part in the CLAT 2024 counselling process.
• The candidates must submit an amount of Rs 30,000 (approximate) through the official website of CLAT 2024. The same shall be transferred to the chosen NLU.
• Candidates failing to submit the amount shall not be considered for admission at any NLU. 
• Following this, their names shall be scrapped off from the CLAT 2024 merit list.
• Candidates must make sure that they reserve their seats during this process by paying the counselling fee.
• The seat allotment lists will have details like Student's Name, Admit Card Number, All India Rank (AIR) and category.
• Candidates must have to log into their accounts on CLAT official website and learn which NLUs have been allotted to them. 
• No refund of the counselling fee can be requested after the last date of withdrawal from the CLAT 2024 admission process.

What after CLAT 2024 Seat Allotment?

Following the publication of CLAT allotment results, students may select one of the following options:

• Candidates can accept their allotted seats. Candidates who accept their allotment will not be considered for further allotments and will be required to pay the fees at this time.
• The upgrade choice is available to those candidates who do not want to join the allotted NLU. 
• If they want to apply for an upgrade, they must also pay the NLU fees to the assigned university and submit the necessary documents.
• Prospects can choose to reject and exit from CLAT 2024 Seat Allotment lists. If they decide to do that, they will not be considered for any further allotments.
• Candidates who accept their allotment or apply for an upgrade must complete the admission process by submitting the required documents and course fees to the assigned university.

The shortlisted students must contact the allotted NLU and submit the required documents for the admission formalities.

NLU Course Fee Payment

Students can obtain fee payment information by contacting the designated university. Each NLU sets its admission costs for its courses. A part of the course fee is adjusted from the CLAT counselling registration fee. Applicants will only be considered for admission if they have paid the required fee and uploaded all the necessary documentation.

CLAT Seat Allotment - Important Points to Remember

• If the university decline admission to a candidate, they can find the information via the login page.
• Candidates who have been assigned a seat but want to exit the CLAT admission process have the liberty to do so. 
• However, once candidates have decided to exit the admissions process, they will be unable to participate in any future seat allotments.

CLAT 2024 Seat Matrix

Candidates taking the CLAT exam should be aware of the seats that are available through the CLAT 2024 at the national law universities (NLUs). 22 NLUs that offer more than 3,000 CLAT seats in undergraduate law programmes and roughly 1200 seats in LLM programmes are taking part in the exam.

Additionally, the CLAT seats 2024 for each NLU are classified into several groups based on the university's reservation strategy. The majority of colleges grant domicile preference from the total number of CLAT seats, hence there would be fewer seats available for All India aspirants. .
