DU LLB Entrance Exam 2024 Seat Allotment (June 22)

The DU LLB entrance exam 2024 seat allotment list for round I will be launched on July 22, 2024, at 5 pm. The deadline to accept the provisional allotment for round I is between June 22, 2024, 5 pm to June 26, 2024, 4.59 pm. After the centre/ department approves the round I allocation, then the concerned aspirants can pay the admission fee by June 28, 2024, till 4.59 pm.

The DU LLB 2024 seat allocation will be done based on the Common Seat Allocation System. Please note that the aspirants applying to the University of Delhi must refer to the minimum eligibility criteria and the eligibility conditions relevant to the LLB course. Only those aspirants who have appeared in CUET PG 2024 and satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria are qualified to apply for CSAS(PG) 2024.

DU LLB 2024 Seat Allotment Process

DU LLB seat allotment will be based on the Common Seat Allocation System organised by the University of Delhi. Below are the main steps of the DU LLB 2024 seat allotment process - 

Filling out the CSAS PG 2024 Application Form

Candidates have to fill out the CSAS PG 2024 application form as per the specified dates. The form has to be filled out online by the applicants. The main stages include -

  • Aspirants have to complete the CSAS PG registration by using the “New Registration” link. Once they finish the registration part they can log in to their portals with the help of the credentials generated.
  • After registration, aspirants must furnish the details needed for the “Profile Section”. The details on the form must match the specifications on the documents or the certificates.
  • Mismatches in the data may result in the rejection of the CSAS PG 2024 application form. Hence candidates are advised to be careful while adding the details, as some information like the name of the parents, the category or sub-category or caste or supernumerary quota, gender of the applicant, email address, mobile number, and bank details cannot be edited.
  • Applicants have to upload the necessary documents in the subsequent step and must make sure not to attach any false documents. 
  • Before submitting the CSAS PG application form, candidates must preview the complete form.
  • After previewing the form, candidates can confirm the details by clicking on the “Submit and Lock” button.

Preference Filling

  • Programme selection and preference filling are important for seat allocation. 
  • For the LLB course at DU, candidates have to select applicable test papers for CUET PG, via which they will be eligible to obtain allotment through CSAS PG 2024.
  • Aspirants have to confirm the course-specific eligibility criteria by checking the bulletin on the official portal.
  • After verifying the course-specific eligibility, candidates must select the department or college choices regarding the preferred course.
  • Aspirants must submit web preferences by considering their priority, as the seat allotment will be based on the order of their selections.
  • Aspirants will get the option to reorder the selections if they want to modify their initial arrangement.
  • Candidates are encouraged to submit as many preferences as allowed to increase their chances of obtaining a seat.
  • Before preference submission, aspirants have to confirm their preferences for the selected course. 
  • Prior to confirming their preferences, candidates can preview their CSAS PG application form. They must make the payment in the next step after validating the details.
  • Aspirants will be considered for seat allocation only after they make the payment for the CSAS PG application form.
  • Candidates can make the payments via the Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card/ UPI.

Seat Allotment

  • In this step, the merit list is declared.
  • Aspirants have to log in to the CSAS PG 2024 portal to accept the allocated seat after the declaration of the merit lists.
  • Please note that it is the responsibility of the aspirants to check the seat allotment results by themselves online.

Provisionally Allocated Seat Acceptance 

  • Once the candidate has been assigned a seat in a respective counselling round, they must accept the allocated seat within the specified deadline.
  • The allocation will be valid only for that round.
  • If there is no action on the part of the candidate then the authorities will take it as non-acceptance of the allotment.
  • It will be regarded as declining the provisional allotment and the aspirant will not be considered for the further rounds of the DU LLB counselling 2024.

Online Approval by the Relevant Department/ Centre/ College

  • After acceptance of the provisionally allotted seat by the candidate, the concerned department/ college will cross-check the minimum and program-specific eligibility, CUET PG 2024 details and other related documents of the aspirants.
  • The institute/ college may seek further clarification from the aspirants if it feels necessary.
  • After the verification process, the authorities may approve or reject the provisional allotment.
  • If the college/ department approves the allocation, then the applicant can pay the admission fee.

Responding to Queries During Online Approval

  • If the department raises any query then the aspirant has to answer the same via the candidate dashboard/ portal.
  • Failure to reply to the query will result in rejection of the allocation and the aspirant will be removed from the CSAS PG 2024.

Admission to the Provisionally Allocated Seat

  • After approval of the seat, the candidate must make the fee payment within the stipulated dates.
  • If the fee is not paid within the deadline, then the allotment will be cancelled and the aspirants lose the candidature of the said seat. Additionally, they will be barred from participating in the subsequent rounds of counselling.

    DU LLB 2024 Seat Allotment Rounds

    Depending on the number of seats after rejections, cancellations or withdrawals, the University of Delhi organises multiple seat allocation rounds. Aspirants who apply for CSAS PG 2024 will be qualified for the allocation rounds, except those who have cancelled their allocation or the university found them not eligible.

    Candidates who obtain allocation as per their first preference will not be taken into consideration for allocation in future rounds.

    DU LLB 2024 Seat Allotment: Upgrade and Freeze

    Before the seat allocation announcement of a particular round, the conducting authority will activate the “Upgrade” link for all admitted aspirants.

    Upgrade

    An admitted applicant can choose the “Upgrade” option during the seat allocation. By opting for the Upgrade option, candidates can shift to a higher preference. Subject to seat availability and the allocation policy, the upgrade will be done. Please note if the aspirants get upgraded in the upcoming allocation rounds, then they will have to take up the new option and complete the admission process.

    Freeze 

    The university will also provide the admitted students with the “Freeze” option after the 1st round of seat allocation and admission. On picking up the “Freeze” option, the current admission becomes freezed and the candidates cannot change the same under any situation in the future seat allocation rounds. They must note that they will not be able to participate in the next allocation rounds.

    DU LLB 2024 Seat Allotment Rules

    Here are some of the major rules related to the DU LLB 2024 seat allotment -

    • Candidates who have appeared for CUET PG 2024 will be allowed for CSAS PG 2024 seat allotment.
    • The allocated seat means a combination of Program plus department/ centre/ college. Wherever applicable, 2 categories of merit list are issued - Common Merit List, and Category 2 Merit List. 
    • The highest possible choice will be provisionally assigned by the university to an aspirant after reviewing factors such as Program-based merit list, Social Category (UR/ OBC-NCL/ SC/ ST/ EWS), number of seats, and any other particulars or policies.
    • The UR category merit list will consist of all the aspirants in the order of merit.
    • Those who wish to apply as SC/ ST/ PwBD/ CW/ OBC-NCL/ EWS/ category but do not have authentic certificates related to the same, then they will not be regarded for allocation as candidates from the said categories.
    • If an applicant who was allocated a seat under any reserved category but was rejected based on unavailability of category documents/ caste certificates may receive an allocation in the future rounds, if any, in the UR category based on their merit, number of vacancies available, and eligibility.
    • For those candidates who neither pick up the Upgrade or Freeze option and remain inactive, the admission taken by them will be reserved and they cannot go for the upgradation option later on.
    • Those who settle on the Upgrade option, and a new alternative is assigned to them based on the allocation rules, then their current seat on which they are admitted will be automatically cancelled.
    • Those who do not take the upgraded seat within the prescribed time or the upgraded seat will be revoked and the said candidate will be out of the counselling process and seat allocation.
    • Those who decide on the Upgrade option but do not obtain the upgraded seat in the next round of allocation, then their admission in the previous seat will be maintained.
