While you might find other sections of GLAT 2021 familiar, you are most likely to have a vague understanding of the Legal Aptitude & Legal Awareness section. Thousands of students take the GLAT every year in order to secure a seat in the college. As GLAT 2021 is postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, one can utilise this time to prepare in an even better way. GLAT 2021 covers four major areas apart from the legal section. These include English, Reasoning, General Knowledge & Current Affairs. It is highly recommended that one has a thorough idea of the exam pattern and syllabus for GLAT 2021 before starting with the preparation.
It is to be noted that the sections included in the GLAT papers for both B.A.L.L.B (Hons.) and B.B.A.L.L.B (Hons.) are the same. The preparation tips for English, Reasoning, General Knowledge & Current Affairs and Legal Aptitude & Legal Awareness have been mentioned below.
This section of the exam contains 20 objective type questions of 1 mark each.
Every question carries one mark making it a total of 20 marks.
There will be no negative marking.
Candidates should be able to complete this section within 15-16 minutes.
One of the best ways to ace this section is by making a habit of reading newspapers every day. Spend at least 1 hour on reading a newspaper or the editorial section of top newspapers in the country like ‘The Indian Express’.
Try and learn at least 3-4 new words every day.
Refer to common/basic English grammar books like Wren and Martin.
Take part in Online English grammar quizzes.
Practice a number of English comprehensions. This will help in developing your speed.
Practice previous year question papers.
Practice more and more English exercises that involve the GLAT English important topics/syllabus.
Like any other law entrance exam, GLAT will also test the way the candidate thinks. This section of the exam contains 25 objective type questions of 1 mark each.

Candidates should not spend more than 22 minutes on this section.
To improve your speed and accuracy in this section, you have to practice as many logical reasoning questions as possible.
Understand the basics of each topic and learn the skill to answer logical reasoning questions.
Majority of questions in this section are asked from topics like Critical and Verbal Reasoning, Analogies, Number Series and Fact inference judgement. Make sure you do not miss out on these.
Do not confuse yourself by reading between the lines. In this section, always go by the information that is mentioned in the passage/question.
Never assume anything and focus on the keywords in the question.
Solve previous year question papers and be an active reader while attempting these questions. It is always better to attempt this section in the very beginning.

Make sure not to miss out any of the recent landmark judgements or the ones that were widely covered across the country or the world.
Participate in online General Knowledge & Current Affairs quizzes conducted in the current year.
Every question carries one mark making it a total of 30 marks, making it the most important section.
There will be no negative marking here as well.
Candidates should not spend more than 30 minutes on this section.
Start your preparation with ‘Constitution’ and then move on to others.
The primary emphasis in this should be on topics like the Preamble of India, FD and FR, Supreme Court of India, Ministry of Law and Justice, High Court of Delhi, the hierarchy of Indian judiciary, Bar Council of India, Government of India, etc.
Again, have a clear idea of the recent landmark judgements.
Since this is going to be a new thing for you, you must ensure that you understand the basic legal terms clear enough to not confused on exam day.
Go through previous year question papers and refer to CLAT/AILET papers as well.
Here are certain tips and tricks you can apply while preparing for the exam:
Chalk out a preparation plan according to the number of days left for the exam and the number of topics you need to cover. In case you have less time on hand, focus only on the most important topics and make a plan accordingly.
In does not matter how much time you are left with, always make crisp notes. These notes will help you at the last moment and revise well for the exam.
Clear your basics in each section. It will ensure that you manage your time on the exam day.
Do not jump from one book to another. It is always best to refer to not more than two books for each section.
Lastly, when you are almost done preparing for the exam, practice previous year question papers. They will give you an idea of the level of difficulty, your strengths and weaknesses, and more.
