  • Section A - Psychometric Section
  • Section B - Descriptive Test
  • Section C - Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, General Awareness, Divergent & Convergent Thinking

To understand how to calculate the MICAT 2025 score, candidates must be aware of the marking scheme details of which are provided below:

  • It is compulsory for the candidates to qualify for the Psychometric Test section.

  • There is no negative marking applicable to the Psychometric and Descriptive sections.

  • The negative marking of 0.25 marks is applicable only to Verbal Ability, General Awareness, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and Divergent & Convergent Thinking Sections.

  • For every incorrect response in Verbal Ability, General Awareness, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, and Divergent & Convergent Thinking sections, a 0.25 mark will be deducted.

As per the marking scheme, the aggregate score of each section obtained by a candidate will be his final mark in the MICAT 2025 exam.

Calculation of MICAT 2025 Scaled Scores/Normalized Scores

The sectional score of a candidate in a particular component of MICAT I or MICAT II, for example, Verbal Ability (VA) will be converted into a Scaled Score with the help of the following formula for VA:

Scaled Score - VA of a candidate 'X' in MICAT I/MICAT II = (Score - VA of the candidate 'X' / Maximum obtained by a candidate among the candidates who appeared for MICAT I/MICAT II in VA) * Maximum Possible Score in VA in MICAT I/MICAT II
  • Scaled Scores will be calculated for all the MICAT-I/MICAT-II components using the formula given above. It will be calculated for GA, DT, QA, and DCT sections as well.

MICAT 2025 Final Merit List

After the successful completion of the GD and PI rounds for all candidates in March 2025, the MICAT 2025 final merit list will be published soon after in the first week of April 2025. The final admission decision will be based on a candidate's performance in MICAT, the psychometric test, GD, and PI.

Candidates offered admission to their priority program will have their candidature automatically revoked from the second priority program. If a candidate is offered admission to their second priority program, they have two options: either accept the offer and enroll in their second priority program, requiring them to withdraw their name from the first priority program, or refuse the offer, remaining on the waiting list for their first priority program.

What After MICAT 2025 Result?

After the declaration of the MICAT 2025 result, MICA will release the cut-off marks which are the minimum marks obtained by a candidate to qualify for the exam. Candidates should prepare for Group Discussion or Group Exercise (GD/GE) and Personal Interview (PI) based on their MICAT, GMAT, CAT, or XAT scores. The GE & PI shortlist for MICAT 2025 will be released in February 2025, along with the MICAT 2025 Phase II result.

To get shortlisted for GE and PI rounds, candidates have to meet the sectional cut-off in every section. For the GD and PI shortlist preparation, Section A (Psychometric Test) is mandatory but does not impact the merit list. The cut-off marks for Sections B and C (Descriptive Tests and subsections) are set by MICA Ahmedabad, and only those exceeding these marks proceed to GD and PI.

Shortlisting for GD and PI depends on overall performance in all rounds, and candidates must attend these sessions at their designated MICAT center—choices include Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi. Applicants seeking admission without taking the MICAT 2025 can still be considered based on their CAT, GMAT, or XAT scores. Following successful completion of all GD and PI rounds, the final Merit list for MICAT 2025 will be published.
