How is the NEET PG Merit List 2025 Calculated?

The NEET PG Merit List 2025 will depend on the individual performance of the students in the exam. On the basis of the rank list, students will be allocated their colleges and course. There is a specific calculation to get an idea about the merit list 2025 of NEET PG. Here we have provided in detail the detailed process of the NEET PG Merit List 2025 for the reference of students.

  1. Establishing the Minimum Qualifying Percentile (MQP): The National Board of Examinations (NBE) determines a minimum qualifying percentile (MQP) for the NEET PG exam. Candidates surpassing this percentile are deemed eligible for admission.

  2. Computing the Raw Score: The raw score reflects the actual number of correct answers provided by a candidate in the NEET PG exam. Each correct response earns the candidate 4 marks, while each incorrect answer results in a deduction of 1 mark.

  3. Converting Raw Score to Scaled Score: Equating, a statistical procedure, is employed to transform the raw score into a scaled score. Equating compensates for variations in difficulty levels among different versions of the exam.

  4. Computing the Percentile Score: The percentile score indicates the proportion of candidates whose scaled scores fall below a candidate's score. This computation is grounded in the performance of all exam-takers.

  5. Forming the NEET PG 2025 Merit List: Drawing upon the percentile scores of all examinees, the merit list is organized in descending order. Candidates with higher percentile scores are allocated superior ranks within the list.

It is important to note that the NEET PG 2025 Merit List is prepared separately for each category of candidates (General, OBC, SC, ST, PwD).
