NEET Merit List 2025: Tie-Breaking Policy

In the event of two or more candidates achieving the same marks in the entrance exam, the NEET All India Merit List 2025 will be prepared using the following tie-breaking criteria. It's noteworthy that this year, the age criteria and application form number, which were used as a last resort previously, have been eliminated.

1. Preference will be given to the candidate with higher marks in Biology.
2. If the tie persists, the candidate with higher marks in Chemistry will be prioritized.
3. The candidate with higher marks in Physics will be assigned a higher rank.
4. If the tie still remains, the candidate with a lower ratio of attempted incorrect and correct answers will be prioritized in the rank list.
5. Subsequently, the candidate with a lower ratio of attempted incorrect and correct answers in Biology will be given priority.
6. If the tie persists further, the candidate with a lower ratio of attempted incorrect and correct answers in Chemistry will be prioritized.
7. Lastly, the candidate with a lower ratio of attempted incorrect and correct answers in Physics will be given priority in the rank list.

NEET Seat Allotment 2025

The 15% AIQ NEET 2025 seat allotment is published in a PDF format on the official website of MCC. For 85% AIQ counselling, seat allotment document is published on the state authorities website. The NEETG U Round 2 result will be released on 19th September, 2024. The students must visit the respective institute and secure admission by submitting relevant documents and paying the complete fees.

The candidates who have scored the NEET cutoff 2025 will be featured in the NEET merit list 2025. There are three types of NEET Merit List prepared, through which the NEET counselling process is initiated for admission to various medical colleges. What is the tiebreaker process in the NEET Merit List?

The tiebreaker process is applied in preparing the NEET If two or more candidates secure the same marks in the NEET 2025 exam, then the authority will implement the tie-breaking strategy below for preparing the NEET All India Merit List 2025. Generally, the candidates scoring higher marks in Biology will be given priority. If the tie persists, then the candidate who scored higher in Chemistry will get the next advantage. Also, if the tie does not break, the candidate who scores more in Physics subject will be given priority. Even after all these assumptions, if the tie still exists, then the candidate with less number of attempted correct answers and incorrect answers will get the benefit and rank higher in the exam and the NEET UG merit list 2025 will be prepared accordingly. If the tie continues, the candidate with less number of attempted correct and incorrect answers in Biology will be given an advantage in the NEET rank list. The candidate must note that in 2023, age criteria and the application form number were considered in the NEET merit list but this year it has been replaced with new norms.

How to Find the NEET State Merit List?

As per the NEET merit list criteria, 85% of the state quota seats are filled through separate counselling conducted by the state authorities respectively.  Whereas, the Medical Counselling Committee carries out the counselling process for the remaining 15% of AIQ seats. Qualifying for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test with the minimum cutoff percentile is necessary to be eligible for admission to various medical colleges under the state quota seats. 

All the candidates interested in participating in the state-level cousnelling need to fill out the NEET application form within the prescribed time frame along with scoring the cutoff marks. Also, this is followed by a document verification process.
