SNUSAT 2025 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern describes the structure of the SNUSAT 2025 question paper, types of questions, marking scheme, and other elements of the exam. According to the SNUSAT exam pattern 2025, the test will be conducted online at Pearson VUE test centres. The SNUSAT 2025 and APT are combined into a three-hour test.

The SNUSAT, which is common to all courses, is a two-hour test, while the APT is a one-hour course-specific test. APT and SNUSAT are required for B.Tech admission. APT is not required for applicants interested in other courses.

SNUSAT Exam Pattern Sections

The SNUSAT question paper is designed to evaluate the aptitude of candidates applying to Shiv Nadar University. It is divided into four main sections- Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Ability, Abstract Reasoning, and Essay Writing.

The Verbal Reasoning section assesses a candidate's language proficiency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension skills. It includes questions on sentence completion, analogies, and critical reasoning.

The Quantitative Ability section evaluates a candidate's mathematical skills, problem-solving ability, and data interpretation skills. It includes questions on arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis.

The Abstract Reasoning section measures a candidate's ability to identify patterns and relationships between shapes and figures. It includes questions on series completion, matrix reasoning, and classification.

The Essay Writing section assesses a candidate's ability to express their thoughts and ideas clearly and coherently. Candidates are given a topic and are expected to write an essay in 15 minutes.

Each section has a time duration as mentioned below:

  • Quantitative Ability: 36 minutes
  • Abstract Reasoning: 40 minutes
  • Essay: 15 minutes

Analysing the section-wise time duration, the overall exam duration for SNUSAT is 120 minutes. Students need to answer all the questions in a section within the stipulated time frame.

SNUSAT Academic Proficiency Test (APT) 2025 Exam Pattern

APT is a one-hour exam for those applying to the School of Engineering (SoE), while SNUSAT is a two-hour exam for all programs. The APT papers will be conducted online per the SNUSAT exam pattern. All questions except the SNUSAT essay will be multiple-choice. The exam paper will have no negative marking.
