The WB JELET exam paper will comprise of 100 questions
The questions in the paper will be in MCQ format
The total duration of the WB JELET exam will be 2 hours
Questions in the paper will be in English Language only
The maximum marks for the WB JELET exam will be 120
The question will be in 2 categories i.e. Category 1 will comprise 80 questions and Category 2 will consist of 20 questions
For category 1 questions, 1 mark will be awarded for correct response and 1/4 marks will be deducted for incorrect response
For category 2 questions, 2 marks will be awarded for right answers and there will be no negative marking for this category of questions

The detailed WB JELET marking scheme has been discussed below -
Each question will carry one mark
1/4th marks will be deducted for every wrong/double answer
No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions
Correct option will yield 1 (one) mark and incorrect option will yield negative ¼ marks
For any combination of more than one option, even if it contains the correct option, answer will be treated as incorrect and hence negative ¼ marks will be considered
For non attempting any question, no marks will be allotted/ deducted
Marking all correct options only will yield 2 (two) marks
For any combination of answers containing one or more incorrect options, the said answer will be treated as incorrect, and it will yield zero (0) mark even if one or more of the chosen options is/are correct
For partially correct answers, i.e., when all correct options are not marked and also no incorrect options are marked, marks awarded = 2 X (no of correct options marked) / (total no of actually correct options)
For non attempting any question, no marks will be allotted/ deducted
WBJEE JELET 2025 syllabus will be available online at the official website wbjeeb.nic.in. Through the WB JELET syllabus 2025, the candidates will be able to access the list of subjects, units and topics that they will need to prepare for the WB JELET 2025 examination. WBJEE JELET syllabus 2025 will consist of topics from the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Fundamentals of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The West Bengal Joint Entrance Lateral Engineering Test (WB JELET) is conducted annually by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) to provide eligible candidates admission into the second year (third semester) of Bachelor's Degree courses across the Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy except for Architecture in the government and private colleges of West Bengal.
The candidate will receive one mark for each correct answer provided in the WB JELET exam. For each incorrect answer, one-quarter of a point will be deducted. There are no marks awarded for unanswered questions. If more than one response is marked in a single question, the question is considered incorrect, and 0.25 marks are deducted.
The very first step to begin the WB JELET 2025 exam preparation is to carefully analyze the WB JELET 2025 syllabus & exam pattern. By analyzing the WB JELET exam pattern and syllabus, candidates will be aware of the topics asked in the WB JELET 2025 exam along with the distribution of marks, mode of exam, duration etc. Candidates must also practice sample question papers and previous year question papers of WB JELET to enhance their preparations.
As per the WB JELET exam pattern 2025, the exam will be conducted offline, using a pen-and-paper format, with a duration of 2 hours. The medium of the exam will be English, and it will consist of multiple-choice questions. There will be a total of 80 questions in Category 1 and 20 questions in Category 2, where one or more options may be correct. For Category 1, 1 mark will be given for every correct answer, with a deduction of ¼ marks for every wrong answer. In Category 2, marking all correct options will yield 2 marks. Any combination of answers containing one or more incorrect options will be treated as incorrect and yield zero marks. For partially correct answers, the marks awarded will be calculated using the formula 2 x (no of correct options marked/total number of actually correct options).
Category I: 1 mark is awarded for each correct answer, while ¼ marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Category II: Marking all correct options will result in 2 marks. Any answer containing one or more incorrect options will be considered incorrect and will result in zero marks. For partially correct answers, where not all correct options are marked and no incorrect options are marked, the marks awarded will be calculated using the formula: 2 x (number of correct options marked/total number of correct options).
