VITEEE Eligibility Criteria 2025

VITEEE 2025 eligibility criteria will be released by VIT Vellore on its official website along with the information brochure in November 2025, tentatively. According to the eligibility criteria of VITEEE 2025, candidates must secure an aggregate marks of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology at the intermediate level. Candidates are advised to go through the detailed eligibility criteria before applying for VITEEE 2025. As per the eligibility guidelines, Indian nationals, foreign nationals, and NRIs are also eligible for the engineering entrance examination. 

The eligibility criteria for VITEEE comprise various parameters, such as the candidate's age, nationality, academic qualifications, qualifying exam, etc., that must be fulfilled to be considered for admission to B.Tech courses offered at the university. Only those who meet all the conditions shall be considered fit to sit for VITEEE 2025. Applicants must keep all the necessary eligibility documents ready at the time of application and admission. Any discrepancy found in the documents at the time of verification may result in the cancellation of VITEEE Application Form 2025

Detailed Eligibility Criteria for VITEEE 2025

Stated below are the detailed VITEEE Eligibility Criteria 2025 that are to be satisfied by all applicants:

  • The aspirant must be a Non-Resident Indian/Resident National.

  • OCI and PIO holders are also eligible to apply for VITEEE 2025. Foreign candidates can directly apply through the foreign category. 

Educational Qualification
  • The aspirant must have secured an aggregate of 60% in Chemistry, Physics and Biology/Mathematics in the 12th Board exam.
  • Aspirants belonging to Jammu and Kashmir and the Northeastern states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim must have secured an average of 50% in PCM/PCB in the 10+2 or equivalent. Also, aspirants must have the Migration cum Transfer Certificate at the time of counselling.

  • Applicants who have studied Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics are eligible for all the B.Tech courses.

  • Applicants who have studied Biology, Physics and Chemistry are eligible for B.Tech. Biotechnology, Bio-Engineering and B.Tech. programs. They are also eligible for Electronics and Communication with specialization in Biomedical Engineering and B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (specialization in Bioinformatics) but after joining, having Mathematics as the main course is mandatory.

  • Aspirants who have obtained full-time regular and formal education are eligible to apply

Age Limit
  • Aspirants whose birth date falls on or after 1st July 2002 can apply for VITEEE 2025

  • The date of birth as registered in the High School/X Certificate/SSC will be considered accurate. Candidates must create this certificate in original as age proof at the time of counselling. If any qualified student fails to bring the certificate, he/she will be disqualified.

Qualifying Subjects
  • Applicants who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics mandatorily at the 10+2 level are eligible to apply for all the VIT B.Tech programs

  • Applicants who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the 10+2 level can apply for admission into the following courses, provided that the applicants join a bridge course in Mathematics - 

  1. B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (Specialization in Health Informatics) offered at VIT Bhopal

  2. B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (Specialization in Bioinformatics) offered at VIT Vellore

  3. B.Tech Biotechnology offered at VIT Vellore

  4. B.Tech Bioengineering offered at VIT Bhopal

  • All B.Tech programmes are open to applicants who choose physics, mathematics, chemistry, English, or aptitude.
  • Students may apply to the following biostream programmes exclusively if they choose Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Aptitude.
    B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering with specialisation in Bioinformatics (VIT, Vellore).
    B.Tech Bio-engineering (VIT, Bhopal).

VITEEE 2025 Eligibility Criteria: NRI Candidates

  • It is mandatory for students to take the qualifying examination with English as one of their subjects.
  • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and Biotechnology should have been required subjects during their twelve years of education.
  • A minimum average of 55% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) or Biology or Biotechnology (PCB) in 10+2 or equivalent exams is required of candidates.

VITEEE Eligibility Criteria 2025 for Foreign Candidates

  • Candidates must have studied in an English medium school.
  • Physics and mathematics must be taken as two required subjects at the A level, Form VI, Senior VI, or its equivalent. Chemistry, computer sciences, electronics, biotechnology, or biology are the possible third subjects.
  • A minimum of 55% of the candidates' 10+2 or equivalent cumulative marks in these subjects are required.

VITEEE Eligibility Criteria for Admissions

Those who pass the VITEEE 2025 exam will be able to take part in the seat allocation and counselling process. Depending on their merit ranks, candidates will receive calls to participate in the VITEEE counselling in 2025. During the counselling process, candidates will have to select their preferred campus and B.Tech programme. Following this, admission of candidates will be determined by their merit, the availability of seats, and the choices they have locked in.

VITEEE Reservation Criteria

  • Candidates who fall under one of the SC/ST categories must present their SC/ST certificates as identification.
  • A Certificate to Prove Nativity is required for candidates from Jammu and Kashmir as well as the northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.
  • It is important to remember that the institute's decision regarding the candidate's admission will be deemed final if the required community or nativity certificate is not provided during the admission process.
