IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria 2025

IIT JAM 2025 Eligibility Criteria have been set and released by IIT Delhi. Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria before beginning the IIT JAM application process on September 3, 2024, at jam2025.iitd.ac.in. Candidates for IIT JAM 2025 must have a bachelor's degree or be in their final year of an undergraduate science programme. Candidates must have got at least 55% of their graduation marks. There is no age limit on MSc admission through JAM. Foreign nationals who hold an Indian degree are also eligible to take the JAM exam. To take the IIT JAM 2025, applicants must meet the eligibility criteria. 

Before filling out the application form for IIT JAM 2025, candidates should double-check their eligibility and then apply. IIT JAM 2025 eligibility criteria vary among participating institutes. Admissions will be cancelled if a candidate is found to be ineligible under the eligibility guidelines. Candidates who are ineligible for IIT JAM 2025 cannot register. IIT JAM 2025 Eligibility Criteria - General Rules

 The general IIT JAM eligibility criteria 2025 can be checked below:

Nationality
  • Indian and foreign national candidates can apply for IIT JAM 2025. However, the foreign nationals will need to satisfy the rules and regulations of the Admitting Institute(s) related to foreign students.
Age Criteria
  • There is no restriction in the upper or lower age limit for IIT JAM.
Qualifying Exam
  • Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognised institute or university.
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of their graduation can also apply for the examination.
Minimum Marks
  • A candidate belonging to the General/OBC-NCL category and Foreign Nationals category must have 55% marks in his/her bachelor's degree.
  • For a candidate from SC/ST and PwD category, 50% marks in graduation is the requirement.
  • The proportion of marks in percentage will be adjusted by admitting colleges for those candidates having CGPA/ Letter Grades.
  • All the documents like qualifying bachelor's degree, Matriculation and 10+2 qualifying documents should be submitted by September 30, 2025.
Reservation Policy
  • For General/OBC (NCL) category the minimum marks will be 55% marks or 5.5 out of 10 aggregate in languages and subsidiaries of all the years combined.
  • For SC/ST category the minimum marks will be 50% or 5.0 out of 10 aggregate.

Note: If a candidate is found to have furnished wrong details, the admitting institute has the authority to cancel the admission at any time.
