AP LPCET is conducted by the School Education Department of Government of Andhra Pradesh for providing admission into various Government CTEs/IASEs and private language pandit training colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The main purpose of conducting AP LPCET is to grant admission to the interested candidates into the one year Language Pandit Training course.

Telangana students who have an Andhra Pradesh local status certificate are eligible to appear for APLPCET, and these candidates are eligible for admission under state quota.
Local candidates of Andhra Pradesh can see admission under 85% state quota seats. For government colleges, 100% of seats are reserved for Andhra Pradesh domicile candidates.
Only the candidates who have studied in Andhra Pradesh fr a consecutive period of 7 years are treated as local candidates. Candidates from Telangana can also appear for the entrance exam. However, he/ she will have to see admission through management quota or private colleges.
The mode of APLPCET exam is online, and the candidates will have to mark the answers on the computer screen.
