COMEDK Seat Allotment Rules 2026 (Round 1)

The allotment of seats is done in the order of preference filled by the students. The system will allocate the seats to the students in non-interactive online mode.

Round 1 Rules

General Merit students

The general merit category of the student will be considered for the general merit quota. The allotment of seats will be done invariably on the basis of seat allotment.

HKR/ Tulu/ Telugu Minority

  1. The first preference will be provided to the HKR /Tulu/Telugu minority category students for general merit. The seat allotment will be done on the basis of rank and merit as per the choices filled by the students. When the general merit seats are exhausted, student belonging to the respective categories will be allotted the seats in their respective category as per their rank and as per the college and course preference given by them.

  2. In the case of a student belonging to minority categories, the below order will be followed based on rank and college and course preference entered:

  • General Merit

  • HKR

  • Tulu

  • Telugu

  1. For the preferences entered by the student, the availability of general merit seats will be checked, then HKR, then Tulu, and then Telugu. If any particular seat is not available as per the first preference, the system will look at the second preference of the students and the same process will be followed.

*Important Note: A student who selects the “Accept and Upgrade” option for a Minority seat allotted i.e. HKR/Tulu/Telugu in Round 1, will only be considered for minority seats in Round 2 Phase 1.

The round 2 rules for COMEDK round wise seat allotment is given in the table below:

Phase 1 (Allotment of HKR, Tulu, and Telugu Category Seats)

  • During Phase 1, the allotment of the seats will be done for the HKR, Tulu and Telugu minority students on the basis of seat availability. The order that will be followed for seat allotment for round 2:

  1. HKR

  2. Tulu

  3. Telugu

  • The students who select the “Reject and Upgrade” option in Round 1 and belong to any minority, the seats would be allotted in their respective category.

  • In case the students select “Reject and Upgrade” for allotment in Phase 1, the allotment will be done during the de-categorized round (Phase 2 of Round 2) for General merit seats.

Phase 2 (Allotment of General Merit Seats)

  • For phase 2, all the vacant seats for HKR, Tulu, and Telugu categories will be converted to general merit category seats. 

Eligibility for General Merit

The students who will be eligible for the general merit quota are

  • The general merit students who opted for “Accept & Upgrade” and Reject & Upgrade in Round 1.

  • The minority students who did not participate in the allotment of minority seats in Round 1 or Phase 1 of Round 2.

*Important Note: The students who belong to the HKR/ Tulu/ Telugu category and is in “Accept and Upgrade” status at end of Round 1 and is allotted a seat in Phase 1 of Round 2 will not be able to participate in further rounds.

Accept & Freeze/Accept and Upgrade

The students who choose either of these two options will have to accept their allotted seats. The students will have to pay the total fee for the college allotted i.e. tuition + other fees. After making payment, the payment status will be updated in the decision-making tab.

Reject and Upgrade

The students who choose this option will be rejecting their seats and opting for the next round. Such students will have no claim on their previously allotted seats. The students will have to pay the total fee for the college he/ she is rejecting. After making payment, the payment status will be updated in the decision-making tab.

Reject and withdraw

The students who select this option will not have any claim on the allotted seat and will not be eligible for any subsequent rounds.
