CTET Cutoff 2025

The CTET cutoff 2025 is established by the CBSE in the form of qualifying marks, applicable to both reserved and unreserved categories. The minimum qualifying marks for the general category candidates have been prescribed to at least 90 out of 150, which equates to a passing percentage of 60. The reserved category candidates need to obtain at least 82.5 out of 150, which is 55%, to pass the exam. The cutoff represents the minimum percentile required for candidates to qualify for the exam.

The CBSE will conduct the CTET 2025 exam for the June-July session in July 2025, and the result will be released in August 2025. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) retains the exclusive right to modify the minimum qualifying marks or the CTET cut-off. Such adjustments depend upon the paper's difficulty level and the number of candidates participating in the exam. Candidates need to clear the CTET 2025 cutoff, and only then will they be issued eligibility certificates. Find the complete information about the CTET 2025 cutoff, minimum qualifying percentage, and more on this page.

Factors Determining CTET 2025 Cutoff

The CTET 2025 cutoff is different for both the General and reserved categories of candidates. Although the CTET 2025 cutoff or the CTET qualifying marks has been fixed by CBSE, it has been determined by taking into account a range of factors. It must also be noted that meeting the CTET qualifying cutoff is enough to make a candidate eligible for teaching roles in government schools, however, achieving a higher score on the exam will make it easier for aspirants to get hired. The factors that determine the CTET cutoff include the following:

  • Number of Candidates Appearing in Exam: Every year a sizeable number of candidates appear for the CTET exam. The more the number of candidates the higher the competition.
  • Total Number of Vacancies: The number of vacancies for teaching positions through CTET is also a big factor in determining the CTET cutoff.
  • Difficulty Level of the Paper: The difficulty level of the CTET question paper also determines the CTET cutoff for both the General and reserved category candidates.
  • CTET Previous year's cut-off: The CTET cutoff always follows a similar trend to that of the previous year’s cutoff. Candidates can expect the CTET cutoff to remain similar to that of last year’s and prepare for the exam accordingly.
