The GSET selection process 2024 will begin after the result declaration. It includes a thorough exam to determine if candidates are eligible for Assistant Professor roles in Gujarat's universities and colleges. The exam consists of two mandatory papers. Paper 1 evaluates teaching and research skills, reasoning, comprehension, creative thinking, and general awareness. Paper 2 focuses on the candidate's chosen subject, evaluating their in-depth knowledge. Passing the GSET requires achieving the minimum required marks in both papers as set by the conducting authority.
The selection process of GSET is almost similar to other state-level SET exams such as KSET, APSET, HP SET, etc. However, the reservation policy of the Gujarat State Government applies to the selection of candidates. Candidates who have attained the minimum qualifying marks in the GSET 2024 shall be considered eligible for the selection process. However, not all the candidates attaining the cutoff marks shall be considered for the award of the GSET certificate. Candidates can check all the important details about the GSET 2024 selection process here.
The minimum qualifying marks required to be eligible for the award of the GSET certificate are as follows -

Check the examples below to understand the selection process of GSET 2024 in a detailed manner.
Example 1: Suppose 260 candidates cleared GSET in English under the General category as per the specified cutoff, and the total number of slots available for the General category in English subject is 25. Simultaneously, the total number of candidates who cleared GSET in the General category is 1200. The selection of candidates is done as follows -
Number of Candidates Cleared GSET in English under General Category (X) Total Slots Available for General Category (Divided by) Total Number of Candidates Cleared GSET Exam. The equation as per Example 1 is as follows -
260 X 25 (Divided by) 1200 = 5 (Which means Five Candidates will be awarded GSET E-Certificate in English under the General Category)
Example 2: Let us assume that 1800 candidates cleared GSET in Gujarati under the SC category as per the GSET Cut Off 2024 specified above, and the total number of slots available for the SC category in the Gujarat subject is 100. At the same time, the total number of candidates cleared GSET is 2600. The selection of candidates is done as follows -
Number of Candidates Cleared GSET in Gujarati under SC Category (X) Total Slots Available for SC (Divided by) Total Number of Candidates Cleared GSET Exam. The equation as per Example 2 is as follows -
1800 X 100 (Divided by) 2600 = 69 (Which means 69 candidates will be declared eligible for the GSET exam in Gujarati subject).
