The merit position or rank will be displayed
All those candidates who have been featured in the rank list/ merit list are eligible for choice filling and seat allotment.
HSTES will apply the tie-breaking rules if two or more candidates secure a similar rank or merit position. The tie will be resolved as per the rules mentioned below –
Tie-Breaking Rule 1 | Date of Birth shall be taken into consideration. Candidates elder in age shall be given a higher rank. |

Tie-Breaking Rule 2 | Name of the candidate as per Alphabetical order shall be taken to consider if the tie exists even after applying the above rule. Candidates’ name with higher alphabetical order shall be allocated higher rank. |
Tie-Breaking Rule 3 | Father’s name of the candidate as per Alphabetical order shall be taken into consideration. Candidate’s father name with higher alphabetical order shall be allocated higher rank. |
Tie-Breaking Rule 4 | Mother’s name of the candidate as per Alphabetical order shall be taken into consideration. Candidate’s mother name with higher alphabetical order shall be allocated higher rank. |

As per the tie-breaking policy for Haryana DET merit list, Candidates elder in age shall be given a higher rank, Candidates’ name with higher alphabetical order shall be allocated higher rank, Candidate’s father name with higher alphabetical order shall be allocated higher rank, and Candidate’s mother name with higher alphabetical order shall be allocated higher rank.
If the two candidates have the same rank in Haryana DET merit list, the final decision will be made on the basis of tie-breaking policy.
After the Haryana DET merit list, the qualified candidates will be eligible for choice filling and seat allotment.
