ILICAT 2025 (Application Form Out)

ILICAT 2025 will be organised on May 11, 2025. The application form can be submitted by the eligible applicants by April 25, 2025. Those who register for the admission test can access the ILICAT admit cards once issued. The results will be declared on May 30, 2025. The viva voce for the shortlisted students will likely be conducted in the 1st week of July 2025.

Applicants who have completed an LLB degree with no less than 50% marks from a BCI-recognised university/ college/ institute can apply for ILICAT. It is organised in offline mode and includes objective and subjective questions. Those who qualify the ILICAT written test are eligible for the viva voce round. The total mark in ILICAT, including the viva voce, is 200. The questions will comprise topics like Legal Reasoning and Comprehension, Testing Aptitude for Research, and Basic Knowledge in several branches of Law.

Admission to the LLM 1-Year Programme will be made based on merit calculated from the candidates' combined marks in the written test and performance in the personal interview (viva voce). Please remember that the candidate's appearance in the viva voice is required for admission. The direct link to the ILICAT 2025 application form is updated below. ILICAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria

As per the ILICAT eligibility criteria, students must obtain an LLB Degree with at least 50% marks from a university or institution recognised by the Bar Council of India or a law degree from a foreign university with at least 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade as defined by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Applicants who are currently taking qualifying examinations are also qualified to apply. However, their admission will be dependent on the submission of evidence of attaining the least prescribed qualification at the time of application / admission.

Each objective question is worth one mark. For incorrect answers, there will be negative markings. Each wrong response will result in a 1/4th mark deduction.  Candidates would be selected on merit, based on their performance out of 180 marks. After the All India Admission Test results are announced, shortlisted applicants will be asked for a viva-voce online or offline. The date and time of the viva-voce will be announced on the website.

ILICAT 2025 Application Form

Applicants will be able to submit their ILICAT application form via online format on the official site. Aspirants must confirm their eligibility criteria for the test before filling out the application form. The complete application process, including the application charges payment, must only be done online by the candidates.

Candidates must fill out the ILICAT application form, including ILICAT 2025 registration, document submission, and fee payment.

Applicants must fill out the ILICAT online application with their details, contact information, eligibility exam details, profession / experience details, whether they are NET qualified or not, and preference of examination centre.

Pay the ILICAT Application Fee

 In the next stage; they must pay the exam's ILICAT 2025 application charges. The application fee is around Rs 2500, which must be paid using net banking, debit card, credit card, or e-payment wallet.

Submit the ILICAT Application Form

The ILICAT application is completed entirely online. As a result, candidates must apply and submit the ILICAT 2025 application form online only. They do not need to mail any ILICAT 2025 application form or Statement of Purpose (SoP) documents to the exam cell in offline mode.

ILICAT Application Guidelines

  • Candidates should only click on the "Admission" link on the Institute's website, www.ili.ac.in, once launched by ILI.
  • The Indian Law Institute has no other official site; all other details can only be accessed through the official url. The Institute shall not be responsible for any loss incurred as a result of using or relying on information provided by any other webpage falsely functioning by the title of the Indian Law Institute.
  • Candidates are encouraged to read the directions and regulations carefully before completing the online application form.
  • Candidates are reminded to preview the online application before submitting it.
  • Applicants must keep a printed copy of the completed ILICAT application form for later reference.

ILICAT Previous Year Question Papers

The ILICAT previous year question papers will be accessible in the Indian Law Institute's office for the specified fee. Aspirants may acquire the previous three years' question booklets by paying the charges in cash or by a Demand Draft made payable to the Indian Law Institute and payable in New Delhi.

Candidates can obtain the past year question papers via Registered Book Post or Courier by paying the cost via Demand Draft made payable to "Indian Law Institute" and payable in New Delhi. The applicant can also request the ILICAT question booklet via an email to academic@ili.ac.in.

ILICAT 2025 Admit Card

Candidates can access their ILICAT admit cards by logging in to the portal via www.ili.ac.in (under the admission section once launched) with the login credentials provided by the institute via its website.

The date and time for downloading the admit card will be announced on the institute's website, www.ili.ac.in. The institute will not be held liable for any loss, damage, or delay in the delivery of the admit card. The applicant must keep the admit card until the enrollment is finalised.

ILICAT 2025 Admission Process

Applicants trying to apply for the LL.M (1 Year) Programme must submit their application form online. To apply online, aspirants must go to the institute's website at www.ili.ac.in and click on the Admission link (once activated) to continue filling out / submitting the online application form. The admission webpage will contain all relevant instructions and information regarding the application form procedure.

A helpline number and email address are also provided on the website for online or telephone assistance with academic or technical issues encountered while filling out online applications. On or before the specified dates, the applicants must pay the application fees plus applicable service charges towards the processing charges through the stipulated online methods. (before 11.59 PM of the application process deadline).

The institute reserves the right to alter the pattern and weightage of marks assigned to Entrance Test Components. Candidates are thus advised to visit the institute website, www.ili.ac.in, regularly for the most recent admission test updates. They can also visit CollegeDekho for recent updates about ILICAT 2025.

Around April last week or May, the ILICAT admit card with the roll number and examination centre will likely be accessible for download. Candidates must make sure to contact the institute if they do not receive their admit card. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an offline Viva-Voce.

ILICAT 2025 Merit List

Admission to the LLM One Year Programme will be made based on merit calculated from the candidates' combined marks in the ILICAT 2025 and performance in the Viva-Voce to be held by the institute following the All India Admission Test. Please keep in mind that the candidate's attendance in the viva voice is required for admission. The schedule for the All India Admission Test and Viva-voce will be made available on the website (www.ili.ac.in) in advance.

Some crucial pointers related to the ILICAT 2025 merit list are -

  • Candidates will be chosen based on their All India Admission Test score and invited to a viva voce at the Indian Law Institute in New Delhi. The institute's website will be updated with the list. There would be no separate communication.
  • The final merit list will be compiled using the marks earned by candidates in the All India Admission Test and viva-voce out of a possible 200. A merit list for the LLM - One Year course will be drawn.
  • The viva voce is an essential component of the selection process. If a candidate who has been called for a viva voce does not appear, he or she will not be considered eligible for admission.
  • Foreign students and non-resident Indians may be exempt from taking the entrance exam. Decisions in this regard will be communicated in advance (say a fortnight before the entrance examination).

Important Guidelines for LLM Programme

Here are some of the important guidelines for pursuing LLM programme via ILICAT -

  • If it is discovered at any point during the programme that the candidate provided inaccurate or false details on the online application or at the admission time, their candidature for the programme will be terminated immediately. Furthermore, disciplinary may be taken against them in accordance with the rules.
  • Suppose it is discovered at any point during the programme that the candidate does not meet the requisite eligibility conditions. In that case, their admission will be cancelled, and the entire fee will be forfeited.
  • Smoking and drinking are specifically forbidden on the institute's entire campus
  • Students must uphold a high standard of academic integrity in their work. Plagiarism will be treated as using unfair methods in the examination.
  • All cases of the use of Unfair Means in the examination shall be brought before the Director's Standing Committee on Unfair Means / Examination Disciplinary Committee for decisions in individual cases and the recommendation of penalties.
  • If a student is found blameworthy of plagiarism, the institute may suspend the student from the LLM Program.
  • Applicants are encouraged to keep an eye on the institute's website for the most current developments on all admission-related aspects. 
  • Individual communications will not be sent to the candidates of the admission who have been chosen.
  • The institute has joined NAD (National Academic Depository) via Digilocker and has made Digital Certificates available to its students and other users via NAD. 
  • All selected candidates are asked to register with NAD to receive their future digital certificates. Admission fee refunds will be made as per MHRD / UGC regulations from time to time.
