KSET Eligibility Criteria 2025: Age Limit

According to the previous year's notification, there is no upper age limit for the exam. Candidates from all age groups are eligible to take the KSET 2025 exam. However, the University of Mysore (UoM) has yet to release the notification regarding the KSET eligibility criteria 2025 on its official website. To be eligible for the examination, candidates must fulfil the other eligibility conditions mentioned below.

KSET Eligibility Criteria 2025: Educational Qualification

You should hold a Master's degree or an equivalent degree from a UGC-recognized university. Your degree subject should be related to the subject you want to pursue in KSET.

Minimum Marks Requirement

  • If you are from the General category, you should have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in your Master's degree.
  • For SC, ST, OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer), and PwD candidates, the minimum marks are 50%.

Exemption

  • If you possess a PhD and your Master's degree was awarded before September 19, 1991, you will be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in the marking requirement. It implies that you can apply on 50% marks instead of 55% marks.
  • If you have already cleared SET or NET, you do not need to appear for KSET to qualify for the post of Assistant Professorship in Karnataka.

Foreign Degree

If you have obtained your degree, diploma, or certificate from a foreign university, you need to obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) in New Delhi. This certificate guarantees that your qualification is equivalent to a Master's degree in India.

KSET Eligibility Criteria 2025: Reservation Policy

While submitting the online application, you have to mention your category—OBC, SC, or ST—and attach a valid certificate issued by the concerned authorities. But if you are from the OBC, SC, or ST category but from any other state except Karnataka, your application will be treated under the general merit category, according to the reservation policy of the Karnataka government.
