KSET Eligibility Criteria 2024

Make sure you are well aware of the KSET Eligibility Criteria 2024 before filling out the KSET Application Form 2024.  Firstly, only permanent residents of Karnataka are eligible to appear for KSET Exam. The eligibility criteria for KSET are almost similar to the UGC NET Exam, and there are certain exemptions with regard to KSET exam. KSET Eligibility Criteria 2024: Age Limit

Based on the previous year's notification, there is no upper age limit to appear for the exam. Candidates from all age groups are eligible to appear in the KSET 2024 exam. The notification regarding KSET Eligibility Criteria 2024 is yet not released by the University of Mysore (UoM) on its official website. Also, the candidates must fulfil the other eligibility conditions mentioned below to be eligible for the examination.

KSET Eligibility Criteria 2024: Educational Qualification

The candidates can check the educational qualification required for KSET 2024 below -

  • The candidates must have passed a Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% of marks (50% in case of SC/ ST/ OBCs/ PWD). The candidates should pass the Master’s degree from an institute or university recognized by the UGC.

  • Candidates who are pursuing a final-year Master’s degree course can also appear for KSET. However, he/she will be awarded a KSET eligibility certificate only after they submit proof of qualifying examinations.

  • Candidates should select only the subject that is relevant to his/ her qualification in KSET 2024 exam. For example, candidates who are pursuing or passed M.A. in English Literature can appear for only the English subject in KSET.

  • There are certain cases where a candidate can’t find his/ her Master’s degree subject in KSET. In such cases, the candidates can appear for the relevant subject. The list of subjects is listed in the exam pattern page. For example, candidates who have passed M.Sc in Biology can choose Life Sciences in KSET.

  • OBCs/ ST/ SC & OBC candidates from other states should apply only under General Category.

  • A candidate who has already cleared KSET exam is not eligible to appear for the upcoming KSET exams.

  • Candidates who have cleared UGC NET or CSIR UGC NET are also exempted from KSET exam.

Exemptions for KSET 2024

Here are the conditions to avail of exemption for KSET 2024:

  • Candidates who have already cleared UGC NET/ CISR NET/ Previous KSET Exams are exempted.
  • Candidates who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) held prior to June 01, 2004, are exempted from KSET.
