About NBE FET 2025 Counselling

The NBE FET 2025 Counselling process will be conducted shortly after the exam results are declared by the exam conducting body. The National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will conduct the counselling process in online mode, on its official website. Seats will be allocated through the NBE FET 2025 Counselling purely on a merit basis. The expected counselling commencement date is March 2026. The NBE FET 2025 result will likely be released in March 2026 as well. 

Students who qualify the NBE FET 2025 Exam with a 50th percentile or more will be shortlisted for the counselling process. The NBE will release a merit list comprising the names of the students who have secured a high score in the entrance exam. The step-by-step NBE FET 2025 Counselling process has been mentioned below for your reference:

• Firstly, visit the official website of NBEMS to search for the counselling notification link.
• Then, click on the “Register” option to fill out the application form.
• Enter all the required details as per the form, and fill in the specialisation, institutes, and other information accordingly.
• Next, students will have to participate in the choice-locking and choice-filling process. Once the details have been carefully filled out, click on the “submit” button to confirm your registration.
• Now, pay the required counselling fee as mentioned on the official website and take a printout copy of the payment receipt for future reference.
• The seat allocation process will be conducted based on the choices filled by the students, seat matrix of the participating colleges, and previous years’ trends.
• Finally, a copy of the counselling registration confirmation will be sent to the registered email address for students’ reference.

NBE FET 2025 Counselling Merit List

The NBE will publish the merit list based on the scores secured by the students as per the NBE FET 2025 result. The NBE FET 2025 merit list will be released separately for Indian and International students. Additionally, the merit list will be published specialty-wise, individually for each fellowship course. While determining the merit list, the official authority will consider the NBE FET tie-breaking criteria for a fair conclusion. Some of the important details mentioned on the merit list are students’ registration numbers, exam qualifying status, scores secured by them, percentage of marks, ranks secured by them, etc. 

Documents Required for NBE FET 2025 Counselling

The list of documents required for NBE FET 2025 counselling has been specified below for easy reference:

For Indian Students:

• The original and a copy of the MBBS degree certificate.
• The MD/MS/DNB/DM/MCh/DrNB Degree Certificate/Provisional Pass Certificate of an eligible Post Graduate Medical Qualification issued on or before December 31, 2025.
• A self-attested printout copy of your NMC website verified additional PG degree qualification as per the NMC Act, 2019.
• In case the additional PG degree qualification is not listed as “Recognised”/“Permitted" on the NMC website, you must produce an Additional Qualification Registration Certificate (AQRC) issued by NMC or an Additional Qualification Registration Certificate (AQRC) issued by the State Medical Council.

For International Students:

• The original and a copy of the MBBS degree certificate.
• Degree Certificate/Provisional Pass Certificate of an eligible Post Graduate Medical Qualification issued on or before December 31, 2025.
• The original and a copy of the Post Graduate Medical Qualification Registration Certificate issued by the Medical Council of the respective country.
• A “No Objection Certificate” issued by the Medical Council/Government for permission to work in India for the period of Fellowship.
• Proper passport and Visa documentation.
• A security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India (if applicable).

NBE FET 2025 Counselling Tie-Breaking Criteria

The tie-breaking criteria for NBE FET 2025 Counselling have been provided below for easy reference. It is strictly considered to dissolve confusion regarding students securing equal marks in the entrance exam. 

• The student with a lower number of negative responses in the overall exam paper will be placed in a higher merit position. 
• If the tie persists, the student obtaining a higher score in Part B of the question paper will be placed in a higher merit position.
• In case the tie still persists, the student with a lower number of negative responses in Part B of the question paper will be placed in a higher merit position. 
• If the tie persists, the older student will be placed in a higher merit position.
• Finally, if the tie continues to exist, the student securing a higher aggregate marks (in percentage) in all MBBS Professional Examinations will be placed at a higher merit position to dissolve the tie.
