NLSAT 2024 Eligibility: NLSAT 2024 eligibility criteria is set by the National Law School of India University (NLSIU). NLSAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria that every candidate needs to fulfil in order to apply for NLSAT 2024 are given below.

  • Candidates need to have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized national or international university with a minimum of 45% of aggregate marks for general category and 40% aggregate marks for SC / ST category.
  • Students who are in the final degree of their Bachelors can also apply. However, the final offer of admission will be contingent upon successful completion of their Bachelor’s degree with the minimum aggregate marks. 

The NLSAT 2024 eligibility criteria mentioned above are to be followed strictly and the candidates who do not comply with them are not allowed to register or appear for the exam. If the candidates apply for the NLSAT 2024 exam without satisfying the mandatory eligibility norms, they’ll be disqualified from the entrance exam.

NLSAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria for all the categories

Given below is the NLSAT 2024 eligibility criteria for General Category:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognize institute or university with a minimum of 45% marks or equivalent CGPA / SGPA.
  • Must be in their final year of graduation degree or awaiting results.

NLSAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria for SC / ST / OBC / PWD category:

  • Those who belong to SC / ST / PWD or OBC category must have a 40% aggregate in graduation (or its equivalent) in any stream.
  • Must be in their final year of graduation or awaiting results

NLSAT 2024 Reservation Policy:

Based on the category of students, certain percentage of seats will be reserved for them in NLSIU, Bengaluru as is required by law. Candidates from the reserved category must go through the NLSAT eligibility criteria carefully before applying. The table given below shows the percentage of seats reserved for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other categories.

5% of the total intake shall be reserved horizontally for Persons with Disabilities (PWD); 30% of the total intake shall be reserved horizontally for women, and 25% of the total intake shall be reserved horizontally (compartmentalised) for Karnataka Students.

NLSAT 2024: Karnataka Student’s Category

The specifications regarding the NLSAT 2024 eligibility for Karnataka student’s category are as follows -

1. Candidates who have studied for not less than 10 years in a recognized educational institution in Karnataka shall be considered as 'Karnataka Students.’

2. Candidates who have not completed ten years of study in Karnataka shall be eligible to apply under the Karnataka Students category if they fall under any of the below categories.

  • Children of defence personnel/ex-servicemen, who at the time of joining service, have declared their hometown to be in the State of Karnataka, and who have served or are serving outside Karnataka, corresponding to the candidate's years of study outside Karnataka.
  • Children of employees of the Karnataka State Government who have served or are serving outside Karnataka corresponding to the candidate's years of study outside Karnataka.
  • Children of serving or retired employees belonging to the Karnataka cadre of the All India Services (IAS / IFS / IPS), who have served or are serving outside Karnataka corresponding to the candidate's years of study outside Karnataka.
  • Children of working or retired employees in the Central Armed Police Force service, who upon joining service declared their hometown to be in the State of Karnataka, and who have served or are serving outside Karnataka, corresponding to the candidate’s years of study outside, Karnataka.
