  • Only Indian citizens can apply for WB JELET

  • There is no upper age limit for Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy Diploma holders

  • The upper age limit for B.Sc aspirants is 27 years (as of 31st December of examination year)

  • The upper age limit for Marine Engineering Diploma holders is 25 years (as of 31st December of examination year)

WB JELET Eligibility Criteria for Engineering & Technology Aspirants

The diploma holders aspiring for 2nd-year admission into the Engineering & Technology programmes have to fulfil the following eligibility rules - 

  • Diploma holders from any AICTE recognized institute (Engineering & Technology) can apply

  • The applicants must have secured at least 45% (40% for reserved category) or equivalent CGPA in their respective diploma exams

  • Marine Engineering aspirants have to comply with the D.G Shipping eligibility conditions

WB JELET Eligibility Criteria for Engineering & Technology Aspirants (B.Sc)

Aspirants with a B.Sc degree from any reputed university must fulfil the following eligibility conditions - 

  • The applicants must have a B.Sc degree from any UGC recognized University

  • The applicants must have secured at least 45% (40% for reserved category) or equivalent CGPA in their respective qualifying degree exams

  • Applicants must have studied Mathematics as a compulsory subject at the 10+2 level

  • After admission, the candidates have to obtain a passing aggregate in all the second year B.Tech subjects along with the 1st year B.Tech subjects like Engineering Drawing/Engineering Mechanics and Engineering Graphics 

Also, 

  • B.Sc candidates will be allocated seats only after all the Diploma holders have been allocated seats in their desired colleges

  • B.Sc candidates cannot apply for 2nd-year Pharmacy admission through WB JELET

  • B.Sc candidates cannot apply for admission at Jadavpur University

NOTE - Engineering & Technology B.Sc/Diploma holders are also eligible for 1st-year B.Tech/B.E admission through WB JELET provided the 2nd-year lateral entry seats in the institutions are exhausted and there are vacancies in 1st-year

WB JELET Eligibility Criteria for Pharmacy Aspirants

The Pharmacy Diploma holders who wish to apply for 2nd-year B.Pharmacy admission through WB JELET have to fulfil the following eligibility criteria - 

  • The applicants must have a Pharmacy Diploma from any Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) approved institute

  • The applicants must have secured at least 45% (40% for reserved category) or equivalent CGPA in their respective qualifying degree exams

  • In a situation where all the 2nd-year B.Pharmacy seats are exhausted, such candidates are also eligible for 1st-year B.Pharmacy admission provided there are vacancies

WB JELET Eligibility Criteria for Jadavpur University

For lateral entry in Engineering and Technology admission at Jadavpur University through WB JELET, the applicants must fulfil the following eligibility criteria - 

  • The applicants must have a Diploma from any AICTE recognized institute

  • The applicants must have secured at least 60% (45% for reserved category) or equivalent CGPA in their respective qualifying degree exams

Which course is the WB JELET exam conducted for?

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Lateral Engineering Test (WB JELET) is conducted annually by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) to provide eligible candidates admission into the second year (third semester) of Bachelor's Degree courses across the  Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy except for Architecture in the government and private colleges of West Bengal.

 

Can I get Jadavpur by JELET?

Yes, Jadavpur University offers admission to various courses through the JELET exam. Candidates must meet the JELET cutoff for Jadavpur University for admission to the institute.

I obtained a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Will I be able to get into B.Tech Computer Science via WB JELET 2025?

A diploma in any discipline of Engineering & Technology qualifies a candidate for admission to any branch of B.Tech Engineering & Technology.

I have completed a B.Sc. degree programme from a UGC-approved institute. Am I eligible for direct admission in the second year via the WB JELET 2025 entrance exam?

Candidates with a B.Sc. degree are not eligible for admission to the B.Pharm. programme. They are only eligible for admission to Engineering/ Technology programmes. However, B.Sc. candidates are only assigned seats if there are vacant seats after the allocation to Diploma candidates.
