AIFD WAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria

AIFD WAT 2025 eligibility criteria are the set of requirements set by the institute that applicants need to meet to be eligible for the entrance exam. Students who are planning to appear for this entrance exam must check out the eligibility criteria before filling out the AIFD WAT 2025 application form.

AIFD WAT 2025 Detailed Eligibility Criteria

Candidates intending to get into AIFD must check out the eligibility criteria before jumping into the admission process. AIFD offers a total of 60 seats. Check out the criteria below to know if you fit in the requirements laid: 

  • Children of serving Army Personnel are eligible to apply at AIFD. 
  • Eligible ex-Army Personnel’s children can also get into the institute. 
  • Children of widows of the Army and war widows can apply for this entrance. 

Candidates from the below categories will also be able to proceed with the application process:

  • Children of serving Army personnel who have served continuously for at least 10 years in the Army. 
  • Children of ex-Army personnel who are granted or awarded regular pension, family pension during the time of their demise, discharge, superannuation, release medical board/invalided medical board. liberalised family pension or disability pension. 

Candidates who are adopted/stepchildren and children of remarried widows:

  • Children of Army personnel who have been adopted for at least five years before taking admission at AIFD. 
  • Stepchildren from a marriage where at least one parent who is otherwise eligible, belonged to the Army Children of APS/MNS/TA personnel. 

Educational requirement as per AIFD WAT Admission Criteria

Candidates are also required to meet the educational criteria to be able to apply at the institute:

Students must have passed class 12 or equivalent exam. 

Applicants who have passed from the distance education system or privately through NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) must have the same combination of subjects in both classes 11 and 12.

Any board recognised by the UGC/University 

Candidates must score a minimum mark of 35% from any stream. 

Physical Fitness Criteria 

Candidates need to provide a certificate of being physically and mentally fit signed by an RHO/MH/registered medical practitioner. 

Weightage to Gallantry Award Winners 

Candidates who are children of Gallantry Award winners will be given weightage during the admission process. Check out more details below:

Candidates who are kids of personnel who have done distinguished service in war/conflict/hostilities will be eligible for below mentioned weightage:

Children of war widows will be given 5% of weightage at AIFD. The ones mentioned in dispatches have a reserve of 1% in the admission process of AIFD.

AIFD WAT 2025 Reservation Policy

Candidates applying for the AIFD WAT 2025 exam must check for the reservation policy at this institute; check out below:

  • As per the exam authority, there are a total of 60 seats available in both the BSc Fashion and Apparel Design and BSc Interior Design and Decoration programs.
  • Out of which a total of 54 seats are reserved for Army personnel children.
  • The remaining 6 seats are subject to being reserved for the civilians of Karnataka. These students are the ones who have completed their class 12th or intermediate level exam from the state board of Karnataka.

Is there any age limit for AIFD WAT?

Yes, students must be between the ages of 16 to 21 years as of July 1 of their application year. Candidates must be aware of the detailed eligibility criteria before applying at AIFD.

Is Math a compulsory subject for AIFD WAT?

No, Math is not a compulsory subject for AIFD WAT. However, the candidates who have pursued distance education or through NIOS should have the same combination of subjects in classes 11 and 12.

Is there any domicile reservation for AIFD WAT?

Yes, out of 60 seats, 6 seats are reserved for the Karnataka civil students. The 54 seats are reserved for the Children of serving, ex, widows of Army Personnel.

What are the eligibility criteria for physical fitness for AIFD WAT?

Students applying for AIFD WAT must be physically and mentally fit to be eligible. They are required to showcase their fitness by a certified MH/RHO/registered medical practitioner.

When will the AIFD application form 2025 be released?
