Established in 2004, the Army Institute of Fashion & Design is located in Bangalore. The institute was formed under the guidance of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) offering specifically design courses. Army Institute of Fashion & Design (AIFD) conducts the AIFD WAT exam every year, which is a written admission for admission to design courses. Check out the courses offered by the institute below:

As AIFD WAT application form is now released on the website. Candidates will be required to proceed with the application process by filling a google form. So, here we are with the steps to fill out the application form:

• Step 1. Registration: The first step is to register online on the official website of AIFD. 
• Step 2. Pay the Application Fee: Candidates need to pay the application fee of INR 1,000 to successfully register themselves for the AIFD WAT exam. 
• Step 3. Download the AIFD WAT Admit Card: The Admit card will be released a few days before the exam date. Candidates will receive the same on their registered email ID. However, if a candidate doesn't receive the admit card within the specified time, they have to report the issue to the principal of AIFD with their name, address, and application form number.

AIFD WAT 2025 Application Form Correction 

As per the official website, there is no application form correction window opened for the candidates applying for AIFD WAT 2025. AIFD WAT 2025 Exam Fee

Criteria for Children of Army Personnel

The first criterion is for the candidates who are children of eligible serving Army personnel, eligible ex-Army personnel, and wards of Army war widows/widows of the Army. Candidates who fall under the below-mentioned categories of Army personnel can apply for admission at AIFD. However, they are required to submit a certificate as specified as proof of eligibility. 

1. Candidates must belong to either of the below categories:

• Children of Army Personnel who have continuously served in the Army for 10 years. 
• It also includes candidates who are children of ex-Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension, family pension, or disability pension during the time of their demise, discharge, superannuation, invalid or release medical board. This also has candidates medically boarded out and granted disability pensions. 

2. Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases:

• Candidates who are wards of ex-Army Medical Corps Officers / Army Dental Corps Officers who are also currently serving with the Indian Navy or Indian Air Force (IN / IAF) are eligible to apply. They must have served for 10 years duration.

3. Adopted / Step Children and Children of Re-married Widows:

• This criteria enables candidates who are born from a marriage where one parent has served in the Army. 
• Children adopted 5 years before seeking admission are eligible to apply at AIFD. 

4. Eligibility Criteria for Children of APS / MNS / TA Personnel

• Candidates who are children of APS personnel on deputation and who have served 10 years in the Army.
• The ones belonging to APS personnel classified as ex-servicemen as per the Govt of India, Ministry of Defence letter are eligible for AIFD WAT. 
• Also, candidates who fulfil both above pointers and have retired without reversion to the P&T department after serving a minimum of 10 years of pensionable years. 
• Children of MNC members who are regular members and have served for 10 years or are in receipt of pension from the Army. 
• Candidates who are children of TA personnel. They must also have completed 10 years of Embodied Service. 
• Children of serving Assam Rifles personnel and both IN & IAF personnel serving and retired. 
• Candidates of civ. based on their NIFT scores or OAT score of AIFD. 

Educational Qualification Criteria 

Candidates must have passed their class 12th examination or equivalent from any stream scoring a minimum of 35% from a recognised board, affiliated with the UGC. Only candidates who have studied in classes 11 and 12 as regular students for two years will be eligible to apply for both courses namely, BSc FAD and BSc IDD. 

Physical Fitness 

Candidates must have acquired a certificate from an MH/RMO/Registered Medical Practitioner stating that they are physically and mentally fit to pursue this course.

AIFD WAT 2025 sample papers are regarded as the blueprint of the final question paper. Students who are going to sit in this exam are advised to solve as many sample papers as they can to become familiar with the exam pattern. During the process of registration, candidates are asked to fill out the AIFD 2025 exam centres for this entrance exam. The exam centres were allotted considering the first/second preference of the candidate and were revealed on the admit cards. The AIFD WAT 2025 result will be announced on the official website. Candidates have to log in on the portal using their login credentials to access the result. If the candidate makes it to the final merit list then they have to pay the prescribed admission amount to secure their seat in the institute.

There is no official cutoff released for the AIFD WAT exam, however, the exam authority releases a merit list of selected students in the entrance exam. After which the selected ones have to appear for the interview round. Candidates must keep a check on this selection list to know their eligibility for further selection rounds.

AIFD WAT Counselling 2025 will be held in online mode by the conducting body. The counselling & seat allotment process will take place after the release of the final merit list. In the counselling process, students have to bring along the prescribed documents including migration, transfer, character certificates & matriculation, and XI & XII scorecards. This process comprises document verification, fee payment and seat allocation.

AIFD WAT is an institute-level entrance exam conducted by AIFD for selecting students across the design courses including BSc Fashion and Apparel Design & BSc Interior Design and Decoration. So, AIFD WAT scores or results are only acceptable at AIFD, no other design colleges accept these scores.

The selection process for the AIFD WAT 2025 exam will be done based on the performance in all the selection rounds conducted by the authority. Check out the process below:

• Entrance Exam: The first round of selection is done based on the written entrance exam. The conducting body releases a selection list after this round. Students are listed based on their scores. 
• Interview Round: Candidates selected based on the scores in the written entrance exam have to further sit for the interview round. 
• Merit Rank: Based on both the above rounds, candidates are given a merit rank. 
• Final Selection: For the final selection, the conducting body allots a seat based on the merit rank.

The conducting body of AIFD WAT only releases a list of selected candidates through the written entrance exam who are only further eligible for the interview round. Students appearing in the AIFD WAT 2025 exam must abide by the guidelines & instructions prescribed by the exam authority. Check out the below pointers:

• Along with the admit cards, they must also carry a government-issued identity proof. 
• Candidates must reach the examination centre at least 30 minutes before the exam time.
