All About AIIMS MBBS Exam

AIIMS MBBS Exam has been scrapped, and the NEET is the only entrance exam for MBBS/ BDS/ AYUSH (UG) admissions in India. So, candidates aspiring for admission in AIIMS should register for NEET. 

AIIMS MBBS entrance exam is conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi for granting admission at fifteen AIIMS Institutes offering MBBS. Students appearing in AIIMS MBBS entrance exam will be competing for the 1205 MBBS seats vacant in AIIMS Bhopal, AIIMS New Delhi, AIIMS Jodhpur, AIIMS Bhubaneshwar, AIIMS Raipur, AIIMS Patna, AIIMS Guntur, AIIMS Rishikesh, AIIMS Bathinda, AIIMS Nagpur, AIIMS Raebareli, AIIMS Kalyani, AIIMS Gorakhpur, AIIMS Deoghar and AIIMS Bibinagar (Telangana) combined. Out of the total seats available for AIIMS MBBS qualified candidates, AIIMS New Delhi reserves 7 seats for candidates belonging to Foreign Nationalities. 

AIIMS MBBS entrance exam application forms usually go live in November every year during the last week. The application process is divided into two stages and the aspirants have to go through both the stages to appear in the AIIMS MBBS exam. 

Conducted in online mode, AIIMS MBBS exam paper consists of 200 questions in both MCQ format and reason assertive format. The test-takers are given time duration of 3 hours and 30 minutes to attempt the questions which are based on Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Logical Thinking and General Knowledge & Aptitude. 

The AIIMS MBBS result is declared within a few weeks after the exam is conducted. Following the declaration of AIIMS MBBS entrance exam result, the AIIMS authorities conduct the AIIMS MBBS counselling process through which the eligible candidates are offered seats in the 15 Institutes which accepts AIIMS MBBS scores for offering admission into MBBS course.

AIIMS MBBS Conducting Body

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is one of the most prestigious institutions in the country. It was established as an autonomous institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament of 1956. By virtue of this Act, the Institute awards its own medical degrees, diplomas and other academic distinctions. On the lines of AIIMS, New Delhi, six new AIIMS have been established in Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur, and Rishikesh. The new AIIMS have been started under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha. The academic session starts in August 2020 with intake of 100 students for each of the new institutions and in addition, there are 7 seats in AIIMS New Delhi. Along with NEET and JIPMER, AIIMS MBBS is one of India’s three medical entrance exams at the undergraduate level.
