The Global Media Education Council (GMEC) prescribes AIMET eligibility criteria and candidates need to meet the minimum norms issued by the conducting body before applying for the entrance exam.

Provided below are the eligibility criteria for GMCET 2024:
Candidates must possess a minimum educational qualification of higher secondary level/ 10+2 level or its equivalent.
The minimum aggregate required in the educational qualification is 50% for the General category candidates.
5% relaxation is offered to the reserved category candidates. SC/ ST/ OBC category candidates can apply for GMCET 2024 with at least an aggregate of 45% in the education qualification.
Candidates who are appearing for the final examination or awaiting results in the year 2024 are also eligible to apply for the entrance test.
An applicant with a 3 or 4-year long diploma, from a recognized university/ educational institute approved by AICTE can also apply for GMCET. Such applicants are required to have completed their Diploma with at least an aggregate of 50% marks.
